Two scenes from Forrest Gump.

When Lt. Dan finally thanks Forrest for saving his life.

When Lt. Dan arrives at Forrest's wedding with his new legs and fiance.

Overall Lt. Dan was my favorite character in the movie.

I know it may seem silly to some, but the "Papa" scene in the Patriot always used to tear me up. Just the way she's crying and telling him to please don't go and she'll say whatever he wants her to. Just always used to hit me.

Papa!

ETA: Yup, just watched it and started crying in my office. I have no idea why, but that scene has always broken me up.

Two scenes from Forrest Gump.

I lose it when Forest is talking to Jenny at her grave.

Also, as my wife pointed out earlier, when he meets little Forest for the first time and he asks Jenny if he's smart or if he's stupid. Tom Hanks knocked it out the park in those two scenes.

Both of those as well. Also the conversation he has with his Mom on her deathbed. Movie really pulled at the heartstrings and yet it is so rewatchable.

I feel lame for saying it but Ted Lasso darts scene is up there for me.

Delivery is impeccable from Sudakis.

Too many Mad Men scenes with Peggy and Draper Raper.

"That's what the moneys for!!!"

I hope everyone "gets it" because it's an overly simple narrative done via spoon-feeding.

i know it's an unpopular opinion, but I agree with you. SVP is a good movie that I do enjoy, but that last scene just beats you over the head yelling CRY AT THIS MOVIE.

From Man on Fire. When Creese rescues Pita on the bridge.

Pita: I love you Creese.....You love me don't you

Creese: Yes I do

Gets me every time. Nothing like the love of a child.

Yeah I almost used that one instead. The two scenes are like back to back and it kills me every time.

Oh god, I completely forgot to think of MCU movies!

Crap I meant to include that.

This one hits hard. Robert Downy Jr is so perfect here. It's like you can feel him thinking "ok - this was all worth it"

and then

Platoon - when King (Keith David) is informed he's getting out a few days early. The speech he gives Charlie Sheen:

quote:

Chris Taylor : It's the way the whole thing works. People like Elias get wasted. People like Barnes just go on making up the rules any way they want. So what do we do? Sit in the middle and suck on it. We just don't add up to dry shite, King.

King : Whoever said we did, man? All you got to do is make it out of here, and it's all gravy. Every day, the rest of your life, gravy.

And then the look on his face when turns back as he is leaving.

When Ted talks about his father suicide I cried For like the first time in 10 years.

I had Just become a father and I was Operating on like 2 hours sleep a night, but it was absolutely heart wrenching.

I’m definitely off on the exact wording but it’s the last line by the narrator in Stand by Me.

“I never had friends again like the ones I had when I was 12…..Heck does anybody?”

So true if you really think about it.

Band of Brothers when Malarkey goes to get his laundry and then just keeps paying for dead mens clothes cuz he can’t bring himself to tell her they are gone.

Then the scene later in the church where Lip is rostering who is left and they fade out everyone who is gone.

That whole mini series might’ve the greatest thing ever filmed.

Slightly different get to you. Speirs runs thru enemy lines at Foy then RUNS BACK!

There’s a scene in The Passion of the Christ when Jesus is carrying the cross and Mary is in the alley waiting and he falls right near the alleyway entrance and she sees it and she flashes back to helping him up when he fell as a small child and she rushes to him

I’ve only ever been able to watch that movie one time.
