I fully agree. A thread could go on for many pages discussing this film. It's extremely powerful stuff that will destroy your emotions and keep your brain thinking for days

What Aranofsky can do with a limited budget astonishes me. I haven't seen Noah, but apparently he should be restrained to lower budget movies. It forces him to find more creative shots. Which he does extremely well.

My gut check is Mulholland Drive.

After further consideration, it is probably 2001.

One that might be an unpopular choice is Gone Baby Gone.

The big moral question in that movie is one that still kind of sticks with me.

Her and The Road for me. I didn't really watch previews for Her, and I was certain it'd be terrible. For some reason I really latched onto the characters, and honestly, I want an OS of that caliber. Instead I'm stuck with Cortana, who can honestly go frick herself. The Road, I first read the book when my wife was pregnant, by coincidence. For me, it was a great book on parenting beneath a terribly depressing façade. It was good to see it in movie form, but I realize that's only because of my situation when I had first read the book.

Laugh away but About Time was a good one IMO. Made me consider how worked up I get over little things in life and how I let small shite get in the way and ruin my day. Need to enjoy life and those in it. Thought it delivered a great message.

Anyone laughing doesn't have a father, doesn't know what love is, and can go frick themselves. It's a bit of a cheesy movie in parts, but it is fairly profound.

You can't see someone being quiet without using your ears.

You are only assuming they are quiet if you're just relying on your eyes.

Shine (1996) IMDb Kind of a musical The Best That Never Was that is based on a true story. That kind of talent needs recognition.

Serpico (1973) IMDb A true story that showed an unreal level of corruption in the NYPD.

The Color Purple (1985) IMDb Confirmed a lot of what I thought I knew from my glimpses into the "other" side of town.
