re: Just started another Witcher 3 playthrough - Ye_Olde_Tiger
On this play through I did, I did a thing I saw on a streamer's walkthrough. I rode all over Velen and Novigrad and went to all of the notice boards first. This opens up all of the question marks all over the map. For a first timer, this might be a bad suggestion. But for me, each time I did...

re: Just started another Witcher 3 playthrough - Ye_Olde_Tiger
There's two types of avoiding enemies. Roll and dodge. Roll gets you farther away and takes longer...you'll need to anticipate the big attacks to roll away from. Roll just to the side of and behind the Griffin. Attacks from behind do more damage on almost all enemies. Dodging gives Geralt...

re: Just started another Witcher 3 playthrough - Ye_Olde_Tiger
The weapons wearing out and breaking thing really pisses me off. Is there not a way to turn that off?
On PC, I'm certain there is a way. But, I'm about halfway through Blood & Wine on a complete replay of the entire game. I think maybe 3 or 4 times did I ever get a notice that ...

re: Just started another Witcher 3 playthrough - Ye_Olde_Tiger
There's just so much...if you run wildly through fights and across the landscape you're going to get killed and have a miserable time. The lore is fantastic and the story/quests are a real treat. There are easter eggs all over the place. But, really, just play it like you would for real. ...

Its much like being 'the One'....like Neo. No one can tell you that you are...you just have to figure it out for yourself. I wasn't. Never was. Until I was. 2 years and 2 months now, one day at a time. ...

re: A prediction on the media... - Ye_Olde_Tiger
Just about 45 minutes ago I just heard a reporter saying exactly this. Something like 70% of Americans don't think a tax cut is important right now, and that only a handful of republicans want it. Other stuff I tuned out......

re: Game campaigns you have played multiple times - Ye_Olde_Tiger
DoUrden: Dark Souls Just do it. Its far deeper and far more rewarding than just about any game experience I've had. I grew up with Zork and King's Quest. Loved Quake, Half-Life, and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl. I've played the original Witcher before Witcher 2 was a thing and loved it...

re: The goal of the progressive left... - Ye_Olde_Tiger
Is it to drag people in the middle class to lower rungs of the social ladder?
This is not their intended goal, at least not consciously, so far as I can tell. However, there is no means for the progressive socialist/fascist/communist to achieve the equality of results they seek...

re: Frodo at the end of ROTK - Ye_Olde_Tiger
But I guess you could say he was the original bearer of the ring.
True, true. I would go so far as to say that he was the ring. Or that the ring, was him...as well as the fact that through the creation of the Ring he was now tied directly in power to all of the other rings of pow...

re: Frodo at the end of ROTK - Ye_Olde_Tiger
Frodo needed to go
I'm completely going off of memory, so it could be. I just always felt like it was more of an honor, or an invitation for friendship and healing than a true necessity. Something you would extend to royalty, per se. And that was kind of the thing...all these 'g...

re: Frodo at the end of ROTK - Ye_Olde_Tiger
So why did Frodo have to go to the Undying Lands at the end?
He didnt 'have' to. Frodo and Bilbo were both bearers of the One Ring. (Effectively making them greater than Galadriel, Elrond, Gandalf, Sauron, Saruman, or anyone in Middle Earth.) They each largely remained true a...

re: Could a movie based on Tolkien's city of Gondolin be doable? - Ye_Olde_Tiger
Im glad Jackson got involved with LOTR and created some moments and some film that was truly epic and amazing. However, i choose to forget that the Hobbit films even exist. Now that thats out of the way...ive always felt the Akallabeth (sp) would be the way to go for a film moving backwards into...
