The difference between the two is Mr Potter was written as a vile scumbag, and that's who he was on screen, and everyone hates him.
Rose wasn't written to be a hated character. Her character is without a doubt hated, but that hate should be more with the director/writer, not the the character. It's not like she was acting to be hated by the audience. Potter was acted to be hated by the audience.
I could say the same about Rose from Titantic. She wasn't written to be hated, but she is hated, just like Rose Tico.
I guess when i think about it like that, now that i've written that, i appreciate the hatred of a character like Potter a lot more than that of both Rose's, but i guess I should hate the Rose character more simply b/c of the ignorance they were written with.
The fact that i hate Potter is something i was supposed to do. I wasn't supposed to hate the Roses, but I do, so i think that hatred carries a bit more weight.

But then Commodus, both necessary and just so hateable on screen. I think I have more of an aversion to Commodus than Potter, even though IaWL is a better film. Commodus is just another POS personified.

I think villains like Commodus, Tavington, and Percy were great written characters you're supposed to hate, and they are much worse as a person than somenoe like Potter. Potter, while a scum bag, did somethign many people would do, and still do today.
What the 3 i mentioned did in their films were despicable, and they all deserved to be tortured to death for what they did. Potter simply deserved to go to jail for stealing, and i dont' care that he's in a wheelchair, someone should punch him in the mouth.
And i hate the whatever you want to call those 3 movies that played that Star Wars theme before they started, and Rose is kind of the character that recieves the brunt of the hate for those movies. It's not that i really hate her the character, i simply hate what she represented to the franchise and what was done to that franchise overall, and i hate that a good bit more than a made up villain b/c it's a lot more real to me in that it ruined something that should have been great. And man do i sound like a star wars nerdy bitch saying that, but i'm not ashamed of being a star wars nerd.

This tournament is confusing me more.
I guess the only answer is which character makes you want to jump through the TV and strangle them or at the very least stop them or try to change them for how they are hurting the lives of others.

Now at the end he does steal the $8000 (that’s 135,000 in 2023 dollars) that he knows belongs to the B&L. Instead of calling the cops on George he could probably have destroyed the BBB&L by coming clean. That's a good point that Silver should make it before Kreese. But even then, Silver just stepped up to the plate to help Kreese because he saved his arse in 'Nam. So there is at least some charitable vibe to it.
Daniel is just an unlikeable douche, which is why Ali left him and Jessica Friend Zoned him with the quickness. Hell, even Kumiko liked him the most and she was like "Have fun going back to America by yourself, dickhead."

How is that even possible? I wanted to get him nominated early so that people could tag onto it and get him into thte tournament. That tells me that not enough people have truly taken a proper deep dive into KK and realized what an unlikeable douche he is.

I just look at the two characters in the "game" and pick which one i hated more while watching the movie.
