Her not being in that many familiar movies didn't help. There are people that voted that probably didn't even know who she was before this. She's a 10 for sure and I'd have her in over Beckinsale.

This is part of the Kate Beckingsale thing that just boggles my mind, what the hell was she in that got so much attention? I look at her IMBD and just don’t get it, were those Underworld movies much bigger than i realize? Was there some major magazine spread or something? I never thought Farrah Fawcet was the hottest from the 70s, give me Cheryl Ladd and Jacklyn Smith all day but Farrah had that iconic poster so I got it. But Beckingsale I really don’t get why she runs away with these things. Of course it’s all subjective and she’s pretty but good lord no where near the level she gets on here. Grace Kelly I get, not my personal favorite but has a classic beauty but the Kate B hype just eludes me.

the only thing that immediately comes to mind is Serendipity.
never got into the underworld's, so i'd have to think long and hard about naming another role with her. aviator is the only thing that comes to mind without looking it up.

Her movie Resume is pretty much crap beyond her stunning looks playing Ava Gardner in The Aviator. And she's still not Ava Gardner.
She was cute in Serendipity.
She was pretty in Pearl Harbor (but who saw that movie to its end?)

This is exactly my point. Grace Kelly is in some all time classics, movies ranked high on the AFI list that people still watch, plus she was literally royalty and died in a tragic accident at a relatively young age. I get her ranking in these things. Beckinsale is not in any super popular or well received movies or TV shows, wasn’t in a high profile tabloid relationship that I know of (like Hurley was with Huge Grant or Posh Spice with Beckham) I just don’t get it

I think it’s an age thing - most posters here were in their coming of age when the underworld movies were big and she was running around in tight black leather

It wasn’t until she was around 40 that she was in her first big movie in America and it was a bit part
In the end, I that’s why I am pulling for Connelly. At her best, she would be a Bellucci look alike
