variety

Seems like an off summer. A lot of movies expected to do well are failing out the gate.
Superwoman, masters of the universe, scary movie, mortal kombat.
I wonder what will turn out to be the big summer blockbuster. Or is it Obsessed?

Problem is, we've already seen the Minions 'down through history' searching for a evil boss. Why they chose to revisit that journey is a head scratcher.

They know these movies suck before they come out. They’re made by idiots and they’re not made for the public. Variety knows this, they’re just lying to you.

Saw the trailer for the first time while going to see Toy Story 5. I don't think you could pay me to watch the minions movie. I get it's for little kids but man it looks so bad.

Toy Story 5 almost to 800 million at the box office.

I saw it with one of my kids and some friends and their kids - and they all promptly asked for new Minions toys

Really enjoyed this. Another stratosphere of enjoyment from Minions.

Also loved the anti-screen messaging. It even resonated with my children and reinforced our rules to them about screen time. I also teared up like a big baby.

This is what I didn’t understand. I was sitting there watching with my daughter thinking “didn’t we already do this?”

Yea I thoroughly enjoyed TS5. I teared up too. In particular the part when Jessie finds out about her previous owners life

I really liked the messaging as well and kind of glad they didn't go full out tech is horrible but gave a nice "tech has it's place" angle. Not evil like previous Toy Story villains but just needs limits.

My freaking mom paid for the tickets. I had no say in the matter. I slept through some of it and woke up annoyed to the sounds.

This got hurt based on misconceptions from a single one-off joke in the trailer. It was a legitimately fun film.

Should have been a success.

scary movie,

A huge success this summer....Already made almost 3.5x than the last one 13 years ago. Will be the 2nd highest grossing of the series by the end of next weekend, only behind the original. Its at 225 million world wide on a 30 million dollar budget.

I saw DM4 with my nephews and wanted to blow my fricking brains out.

These kids movies are literally retarded.

And no, they haven’t always been.
