I’m in process of buying hard copies of all major shows and movies I really care about for that reason.

Physical media is the way to go. I have a ton of movies but need to eventually shift to TV and get copies of the shows I really like.

I remember hearing this song when the episode first aired, and I wondered what it was for nearly twenty years. Then one day I saw “Miami Vice” was airing on some channel, so I started DVRing every episode until I found it. Today, it’s a 5 second Google search, but back then, I was ecstatic to finally find out it was Tommy Shaw’s “Girls With Guns”. Such an 80s sound. :)

Bonus: check out all of the Deloreans at the end.

It was a much watch during its heyday,
but it’s very much a creature of the 80’s.

Michael Mann glitzed up boring tv for sure. His use of music was revolutionary. That and Don Johnson’s loafers…

I just recently realized that Vic Romano from MXC is named after Bill Paxton’s Miami Vice character.

Yep.Godley and Cream with that crappy song at the end . A really good episode was the one with Willie Nelson and Steve Buscemi.

This is still one of the most badass scenes in TV history.

Wesley Snipes was the pimp.

There is also an episode where Lou Diamond Phillips and Viggo Mortensen are (briefly) detective partners.

There were so many great actors and actresses as guest stars, it's ridiculous.

The Public Image song at the end of “Little Miss Dangerous” is freaking awesome. That song just screams 80s perfect for that scene

Tough call between that and Dire Straits at the end of “Out Where the Buses Don’t Run”

My #2 episode. Bruce “D-Day” McGill and David Straithairn. The end is brilliant like a cross between the Tell Tale Heart and Cask of Amontillado

Love that episode too. The selection of Dire Straits "Brothers in Arms" to play over the last scene may have been about the best music selection over the entire run of the show.

Sometimes I wonder if the ending of “Definitely Miami” is one of the origins of the “deal with it” sunglasses meme. Check it out 3:17 into this video.

The scene with Jim Zubiena was peak Miami Vice.

Yellow lenses, unload/show clear as he walked off... (Except for the 2 finger slide manipulation - only 1911 with a recoil spring that light is one set up for race/puffer loads.)
