Just watched Ep 9 & 10 at the gym. Holy hell! This is show is freaking awesome!! If they would focus on making more content like this, Star Wars would be entering into a new golden age.

Amazing show. What Star Wars should be!

I just finished it. Great show, funny how the animated show is far more mature than anything live short of Andor.
This would absolutely have crushed it live; we'd be wanting the upcoming movie to build on this instead.
I do see that they've already announced a Season 2.
So... Talon? That where they're going?

That seems to be the hot rumor, she becomes Talon like Lucas wanted originally in a pre-sale of the franchise. I'm pretty sure the character later developed into what became Kylo Ren.

This always seemed the most likely conclusion to me. If season 2 starts and she's got some new tats, then we know for sure.
Darth Talon

The future doesn't look too bright for Devon. Assuming she does become a version of Talon we know that by 2 BBY Maul is looking for a new apprentice, and is courting Ezra Bridger.
Is he looking to replace Talon, has she died, or has she returned to the light side?
I can't imagine the heartbreak of Eeko Dio Daki, as he died knowing he would not be there to protect his padawan from Mauls influence.

Great series. And holy shite!! That was bad arse. Some of the best fighting I have seen. Really cool.
I am usually not a big animated fan, but this was an absolute home run. Can't want for season 2.

The consequences of a battle actually matter in this, it’s probably the first time I saw a head shot through the eye in Star Wars. Call it morbid if you want, but knowing the death really happened on screen makes a difference.

I posted in another thread (or maybe earlier in this one), ILM is starting to flex a bit.
Maul and Devon were correctly proportioned for realism, not stylized animation.
Anything non-organic (stormtroopers, droids, the Mando mercs, Vader etc) are getting real close to photoreal. Human hair is still a no-go, but I thought Devon and Maul (both hairless), and the Jedi master, all looked damn good for animated. The lightsabers and blaster fire clearly could go directly to live-action.
The lighting and shadows, ambience etc, are approaching a blend.
The backdrops, especially of the city, very impressive paintings (and let's remember that the OT even used that for stuff). There were a few times where it looked static, but lots of times it looked "real".
It's funny, but you get "better" Jedi/Sith representation in animated... they're fast and precise as hell. Which is what it's supposed to be like.
I think we're within a decade of completely animated live-action; they showed they could do Leia and Tarkin in Rogue One, and did Luke in Mando. We could see this blended into the animated non-organics, and get a believable movie without an actual actor onscreen.

How did maul survive getting cut in half but mace windu falls out of a window and dies? Makes no sense when they show Annikan and later Obi Wan free falling and using the force to land on vehicles

How did maul survive getting cut in half
this is covered in the clone wars series
Quick summary: He used the dark side of the force, his species is naturally resistant, his wound was cauterized by the lightsaber.

Windu was maybe too shocked to stop his fall.

I like the non-canon explanation from the EU
In his first moments of clarity amid the ether, Kenobi found freedom in leaving behind his aging body. He finally fully understood one of Yoda’s favorite truisms: “Luminous beings are we. Not this crude matter.” The greedy Sith preserved their physical manifestations at all costs, never able to let go of corporeal forms and move beyond to the next plane of existence. Through Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan had learned how to let go of life itself—the ultimate attachment. By contrast, Vader continued to be weighed down by the machinery that kept him suspended in the agony of his darkest hour. (Skywalker: A Family at War)

Did Windu know how to make the transition?

I don’t think Devon becomes Talon, per say, but I do think they’ll loosely base her off of Talon

I think a lot of that has to do with costs, and people are also personally attached the the live action characters. There are few animated characters that people get emotionally attached to, and the one's they do get attached to more often than not get ruined in live action. See Cad Bane & Asoka.
I think it has more to do with how they are written. Obi and Fett were not done well in their series either but like Maul have a great story arc from start to finish.
I would be all for both getting an animated series like Maul.

The finale fight is easily one of the best choreographed fights Star Wars has had. When you really slow it down, it is quite incredible to watch all the intricacies it has. They do such a good job with Vader's fighting style, being an almost perfectly precise mechanical behemoth, making Maul's shock when he believes he has realized who this thing actually is. Nobody would suspect this robotic monster to be someone human. There are a ton of small pivots he makes mid engagement that are hard to catch at full speed, but it was really cool to see slowed down, being able to anticipate another attacker's move and parry or block it while still engaged with another lightsaber.
His ability to calculate the exact speed needed for any encounter and parry perfectly was something to witness. It was no wonder Maul feared Vader so much, from that type of fight you don't see how to overcome that type of precision. The varied styles by Maul and Devon was impressive. I did get a chuckle though that again, the apparent only way to stop/evade Vader is to just once again, bring another building down on top of him
