am I the only one that hopes this is actually true?

Let reeves play in his own sandbox without having to be worried about connecting to the EU?

You wanna know why no one takes your opinions on this topic seriously...? Despite the many MANY times this idiotic suggestion have been refuted, it still keeps being tossed out.

What's more likely is that those of us who have been less than pleased with what DC has trotted out are, in actuality, really big DC fans and are heartbroken they've fricked this up so badly.

I'm actually tired of repeating this...kind of feel like I need to type it all out, keep it somewhere as a Word doc and then just copy and paste the fricking this ever time this red herring it dropped on here as an excuse for why people don't like DC's movies.

He was until some idiot decided he should go toe to toe with Superman, Dadkside, Wonder Woman etc

He's perfect in his small "universe". Outside of that he quickly dips to a retarded plot device

It's almost like WB is trying to kill off comic book movies w/the way they handle the DCEU.

rolltide accuses others of blind marvel love, despite being a complete shill for DC....if you can't admit SS and BvS were legitimately bad movies

plenty here have bashed the Marvel movies that weren't good....Iron Man 3, Avengers Age of Ultron, both Thors, The Incredible Hulk. So he's full of shite

We have to be up to like 95% of articles written about the DCEU being completely baseless and retarded at this point.

When Warner, or Affleck, or Reeves makes the statement, then I'll believe it. Until then, all of this stuff falls into the "Wonder Woman will be a complete mess" category.

With the announcement of DC's new non-DCEU movie universe, we're going to be hearing tons of rumors. Every dream project is open for consideration, since they don't have to dovetail with the DCEU. Hopefully this opens the door for the possibility of Batman Beyond.

And by the way, the chances of us getting both a Scorsese Joker and a Joker and Harley movie are extremely slim. They're talking to writers who haven't signed on. That's it. All of the rest is "insider information".

I mean, shite...I'll type it out again just for the record.

I'm the age where on Saturday mornings the thing I was most excited about was waking up and making sure I caught Super Friends. If I missed that, the weekend was RUINED and I'd be pissed for days waiting for next Saturday.

I was never a big comic book reader as a kid, though. The only comic book I ever owned before college was this one...

My grandmother picked it up at TG&Y or some discount place and I read it voraciously, though never Dr. Strange for some reason. But other than that, I had no Marvel background. I never got into X-Men stuff and only half way liked Spider-Man as a character in pop culture.
But I loved the Justice League as a kid, and enjoyed much of the original Superman movies. I was a FIEND for Batman with Keaton and because of that I bought a handful of comics (Dark Knight Returns, Gotham by Gaslight, Arkham Asylum, Killing Joke, Watchmen...)

So when Marvel started their movies, I was excited because I like the heroes but had no vested interest in any of them really. When they got REALLY going, I DID get excited...but it was because I knew it meant DC was gonna get fired up and bring me the Justice League like I've wanted since I was a kid! In the interim, I feel in love with the Justice League cartoons and went back and re-watched BTAS. Couldn't WAIT for DC to step up.

Now...the fact that I was in the fricking bag for this franchise and desperately wanted to love it and STILL can not bring myself to find hardly anything worthwhile in them is not my fault, it's theirs. The fact that I can now honestly say that Marvel has done their IP correctly while DC has not is NOT an indication I'm a Marvel fan boy. It means I can simply call a spade a spade.

If a studio can't please a guy who WANTS to love their IP, whose fault is it?

I love the idea of this being a standalone. I wish they'd reboot Superman with an true to comic standalone.

But, you know, if they keep this as an aging Batman stand alone, you could have Hamil play the aging Joker in live action. I'd die happy if they had Hamil play the Joker in a live action Red Hood movie that kicks off the Nightwing franchise.

It blows my mind that some people here basically try to argue that people who dislike BVS and SS are doing so simply because they are "Marvel fanboys". Who the frick doesn't want to see an awesome movie with Batman and Superman in it? I like Spiderman the most, it doesn't mean I want to see Batman and Superman movies fail. That's fricking absurd. I'd love those DC movies just as much if they were actually good.

Suicide Squad WAS a bad movie. I believe I have gone on record saying that this was so. It had absolutely no redeeming qualities, aside from a few of the performances.

I disliked the Batman v. Superman theatrical cut but found Snyder's director's cut to be an improvement which made the film watchable and even somewhat entertaining.

Notice I have not been knighting for the DCEU. I've merely been criticizing the cult that surrounds the undying love for the MCU.

I'll honestly say that I both do and don't. I want more than Batman and Superman.

I would love to see a great Superman and Batman movie, but I feel like those are a little played out. When I see Guardians and Dr. Strange on the screen, it makes me want Blue Beetle, Martian Manhunter, a better Green Lantern Corp film, etc.

Those are the two heroes we've seen the most of on screen, and when it seems TWO Joker films are on the horizon (I can't tell if those reports are for the same or different films), it seems like DC is continuing to double down on characters that are sort of spent.

Why is the Joker taking the Batman mantle in an alt-universe in the comic books? Because he's played out for the most part, so you have to do something "wild and crazy." It's boring. Bring on Kyle Raynor or John Stewart. Take a chance on characters who no one knows so you can shape their perspective and create something new.

Neither Joker movie news has me excited (on the flip side, I do like Affleck as Bats so I do want to see that).

By this, you mean the cult of people who like fun movies? Because the DC movies have been anything other than fun. This isn't a DC vs Marvel thing, as much as you would like it to be.

Competent DC movies would only help the genre.

Baby Driver was a fun movie and I really liked it. So I must be in that cult as well. So, no, I'm referring to another cult.

The top 3 threads currently on the Movie/TV Board are people complaining about DC, this is pretty hilarious

and not ha ha in a fun way, more in a sad way

this is seriously getting ridiculous, DC has basically fired Snyder and moved on, and Tigerdroppings and fan fiction "journalist" still can't stop making shite up
