This movie was garbage. It negated everything the first trilogy did, they made their peace with the machines but nope, three days after neo died machines went to war with one another....

Like what the frick? I can accept a rogue faction, but to get rid of zion, kill off Morpheus off screen , and then make Neo dependent on Trinity? That is as asine as Iris West in Flash series say "We are the flash!"

So yeah totally got the last jedi treatment there, the woke messaging wasn't that bad they really try hard to undo the whole 'red pill' meme but still use red pill as the truth pill.

They really should have stuck with the wachowski brothers to direct this film even if they had 12 min rave party scene to fill out air time.

Very disappointing.

They didn’t really “kill off” Morpheus I mean it’s been 60 years he just got old and died

Not sure if he's referring to the changes in the siblings

Is Trinity the One now or are they both?

Someone explain to me like I’m an idiot why the machines would A.) bring Smith back, and B.) let him anywhere Neo after the two of them pretty much destroyed the original Matrix single handedly.

I think Smith is not controlled by the machines, that was like the whole point of the 3rd movie right? He got unplugged. He’s like a computer virus to the Matrix, they can’t control him

Sure, but Neo allowed Smith to copy over him, closing the equation and killing them both. The Analyst brought Neo back and I guess that could’ve brought Smith back too, I just have a hard time believing the machines would be cool with him being Neo’s business partner after he tried to destroy everything.

I’m not sure on the details of how Smith is back but I am confident in saying I don’t think the machines put him there he was doing that all on his own

Just watched it. I thought it was good. The first half is better than the second, IMO. My main issue was the guys playing Morpheus and Smith. That just didn't work. Give those characters different names.

No they didn't. The wachowski brothers are gone, they embraced mental illness.

As a total side note, did anyone notice that the cover of "Wake Up" at the end of the movie is by the chick who pissed on a guy's face on stage?

glad i watched it on hbo max and didn’t waste money at the theater. this was hot garbage and I was confused most of the time. The lead girl bugs or whatever seemed to mumble most of the time.

That ending seemed to lend itself to a sequel but Lana Wachowski said it’s not the beginning of a trilogy.

This is interesting because even Agent Smith makes reference to starting another trilogy when Neo still thinks he is a game designer and he’s telling Neo “we’re going back to where it all started, to the matrix”

As far as the woke stuff goes, there was some of it throughout the movie.
“They prefer to be called sentients, not robots”
Kept talking about binary and things being more complex
Trinity hating to be called by the name they gave her
Neil Patrick Harris complaining that women used to be much easier to control when Trinity gets pissed
Whatever the hell that cover of wake up from RATM was

Ya'll are stretching it on the woke business.

The movie spent too much time getting Neo and Trinity out, once they are out its over...

The scenes from the original trilogy were a bit much and there was way too much explaining.

Agreed. It was like Spiderman rebooting and needing to tell us about Uncle Ben every time

Yeah. I like Brass Against though. As a former band need I find them and Apocalyptica very cool.

Love the franchise. Didn’t like the new movie. Nostalgia galore. But fell short of being awesome.
