The one that was stolen was taken back. Also I think they bought it from Kelly's boyfriend. The other one, I think was a rental for the Labor Day vacation, was not on the series again. If I remember right, he bought one that ended up being a lemon and was stuck with the Dodge. The old doge was their main car throughout the series.

This was a car that Peggy won on a game show.

What always got me was, they were broke.
Sole earner worked as a shoe salesmen in a suburban Chicago mall, yet they had two cars (one being a 5.0 convertible,,maybe a rental??) an nice two story house with a bank manager as a neighbor (meaning not the 'hood) and a stay at home wife.

Seems like they lived pretty good, except that the only food they ever had was Bon Bons.

This has already been answered, so I will not talk about it. What got me, though, was the fact that Al was only a shoe salesman in the mall, Peg and the kids always blew Al's money on crap, there was never any food in the house, Peg was never able to cook, yet Al was always on the crapper!

There was the episode where Bud stopped being "grand master B", and in that episode he was told Grandmaster B was a dream, then he asked about seven and was told he was a dream too...

I don't remember everything about the show, but what you are describing sounds like when peg was pregnant.

The actress, can't think of her name and don't feel like looking it up, was pregnant irl so they wrote it into the script. But irl she had a miscarriage so they just wrote it out of the script Newhart style. Saying the whole season was just a dream.

IMHO one of the coolest things ever in a tv show.

Look at the nice stuff the Winslows had on Family Matters with their small income.

Yeah, but there was one episode in which Al puts his car radio into pegs as a birthday present.I don't believe the car is ever mentioned again.

It's 80/90's sitcoms. Every episode had a plot hole.

...and if that psycho bitch didn't try to get it pulled from the air, it would have suffered the same fate a the rest of the early Fox Sunday night lineup.

It was mostly all great, though I thought the Steve years was the show at its peak.
