Y’all talking about his regular phone? Why wouldn’t he have his nieces number?
Ah that's true. Totally forgot about that.
Yeah so she used a burner to call and text his real phone. He was clearly mad about that.
But why did he program her burner under her name in his real phone?

Youre only saying this because you argued against it when it was suggested by multiple posters. It was a twist but it wasn’t out of character or super shocking since at least a few people saw it coming.
I actually gave Salmon credit for being correct and me being wrong! Did you watch the whole series There are many plot holes an loose end that they did tie up.
Question do you think making Ryan the Killer and was the best possible ending? or if John was the killer would the show have been any less enjoyable for you?
I'm not upset because I was wrong, not upset at all I just didn't like the ending of the who done it part.

Dylan's Bronco was wayyyyyyyyy too fricking nice for even his parents to buy their slapdick kid.
I knew I was going to hate him when I saw that Bronco!

I just re-watched that scene. They did have burner phones but she called him that night on his regular phone. I guess John must have got the burners after Ryan found out.

quote:I think they went with something that was a twist yet could make sense. The main point of this show is to guess who did it. To play the roll of Mare knowing only what she knows. As long as there’s a real motive and the plot and characters work, then I’m good. But the twist has to exist. At the beginning/middle, if we are going with the most guilty seeming, it’s either Dylan or the Deacon. Then we move to Billy or John. Lori and Ryan were the outliers but the only two that still made sense based on what we knew about John’s history and things starting at the reunion.

What is John charged with now that it's not murder? Moving a dead body? Obstruction? They tried to make it seem like he was going away forever... He and Billy would be charged with the same thing right?
Also yeah, he wouldn't have her burner number programmed into his phone.
At least use a different name... Aaron... etc...

Erin was definitely underage when they started hooking up. Also the whole incest thing, not sure if that adds to any legal issues tho. Attempted murder. Obstruction.

OMG he raped her? I must've missed that episode. Was that at the cabin for the family reunion? She should've went to the cops right then. Could've avoided all this mess!!!

Yeah I know it was his regular phone..was she texting from her regular phone or her burner? Scratch that, doesn't matter. He wouldn't have had either in his regular phone. IMO..

Small wonder why #HBOMax crashed on SUN.
According to #WM, the season finale of #MareOfEasttown has been seen by 4M viewers over the Memorial Day weekend across all platforms, being 3M live on SUN night. Biggest viewership for any #HBO/#HBOMax original series since HBOMax launch.

Rape, incest, attempted murder (brother), accessory to murder (Erin), obstruction, aiding and abetting, etc.
He ain't getting out for at least 30 years.

Statutory rape is rape to the law. She was consenting, but technically she can't consent at that age.

Got it... I can tell you one thing, most wives would not have agreed to take that bastard child. Hell, most husbands would have never asked.

Agree to disagree... And sorry if I sounded testy. It was a weak attempt at humor.

Right. It makes sense to have his niece’s number in his phone. But not her burner phone. She must have called him from her burner phone since police never noticed the call.

I don't know why everyone keeps calling Erin his niece. The Ross brothers were cousins with Erin's father. That would would make them 3rd cousins. Just saying!! John's still a piece of shite.

You are right that Erin would not be John's niece, but they would not be third cousins. John and Erin would be first cousins once removed.
From a google:
If your first cousin has a child, that child is your first cousin once removed. "Removed" refers to a difference in generation from you and your first cousin. You can also think of it relative to that shared set of ancestors that you share with your first cousin, which would be your grandparents.
The children of your first cousins and your children are second cousins to each other. They are second cousins because they have the same great-grandparents.

So what happened to Billy?
Also, the Bronco was odd. They could have used any car. That totally redone Bronco stuck out like a sore thumb.
