It was horrible. I wanted one so bad for birthday. My parents cheaped out and got me a castlevania game for my game boy. I was so mad at them. I finally rented the glove from the video store. I immediately knew it was garbage. The game On the other hand was really fun. Never told my parents.

It barely worked. Eventually you gave up and tried to use it like a regular controller, which obviously also sucked, so you’d get mad and just go back to the regular controller.

That movie and Bye Bye Love were basically 90 minute commercials for Nintendo and McDonald's.

A hot swamp arse mess of sucking arse. We were poor so i couldn't afford, but my friend had one and damn, it was absolutely awful to use. Pretty sure he bought because of this movie, we used it maybe 2 hours and threw it in the closet.

I can't watch this scene without thinking of the song Cutsman by HORSE!the Band.

He’s dead wrong. The Wizard is a total cultural moment. Just a really small focused one.

But if you were a 9 year old boy in 1989, trust me. You still say, “I love the Power Glove. It’s so bad…”

EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. you put on a pair of gloves.

Yes but the attempt at motion controls eventually led to the Wii.

Indeed.

I had no idea whatsoever what the OP was even referencing. Ran a search, and I had never even heard of the MOVIE, much less that scene.

A Fred Savage movie? Iconic? Seriously?
