I think that we all saw that this was going to be an improvement, or at least more entertaining than the previous Thor movies. Looks like the jokes work (which was my only fear at this point).

Definitely most excited about this Thor movie than the others. Nothing but good news from the start. Glad it's a standalone and looks to be really fun. What's not to love?

Early reviews are always good.

Nothing to see here...yet. I do have hope though because I love the look of the trailers.

Adding comedy to an action movie actually does a lot for it. Hence why GOTG has been so successful, as well as the newest Spider-Man, even lower end characters like Ant-Man have been incredibly successful. Comedy is the ingredient that Thor has been missing. Thor is a likeable guy in all his cameos, but his movies make him too serious. This movie should be a massive improvement

it was pretty clear they were aiming for a grand slam when they shifted to GOTG-type presentation

i mean even the trailers were GOTG ripoffs, from graphics to the classic music

and like i said a while back, this is needed with the "cosmic" movies. they're so absurd they can't be presented super serious

Avengers 3 looks like it will be cosmic. I'm interested in whether it'll get a more comedic effect like this Thor franchise is getting. They have the talent there, but does the seriousness of the danger work with a comedic effect?

Not sure how comedy and Thanos works...

That's the point I was making. They're adding comedy to every movie. But would it conflict with the seriousness of Thanos in Infinity War is the question. I don't think they should add comedy to it, but they might

I see. I mean I can only see maybe in the first act of the movie prior to Thanos everything be loose and relaxed. So you could potentially have comedic elements there, but once Thanos shows up the movie needs to have a serious tone from then til his death.

I think the comedy aspect of Thor Ragnarok is a smart move. The Thor films have been bland and Chris Hemsworth has shown himself to be very good with comedy. His "vacation" ads for Ragnarok have been really good and let him shine as the character. If it plays out like it seems to in the trailers...this could be a great ride. Looking forward to it.

Mark Ruffalo is a bitch though. Dude is such a real life pussy its hard to believe him as the hulk.

Truth. I like the CGI Hulk more than I like him. He's funnier and a better actor.

I agree. Maybe that's part of the reasoning for a 2 part movie, to allow for comedy scenes without intruding on the gravity of the situation without Thanos

My thoughts exactly. It seems to be a pivotal movie in the marvel universe overall and taika waititi directing made it an interesting mix. His type of humor (What we do in the shadows, hunt for wilder people) definitely show out in the trailers.

Thor has definitely been the most uninteresting character thus far.

THOR is fun. Like stupid silly fun. A solid popcorn flick. Chris Hemsworth is a certified comedian.

As for rest of the movie it may be divisive. I thought a lot was hilarious (if not too long) but felt like I was only 1 laughing at times

So basically same old, same old
