For the life of me I don't get how such massive costs are incurred in making a film. Seriously, do each of the 7 dwarfs make $10 million? It has to be some form of creative cost accounting, etc. No business in their right mind, especially a publically traded company would continue to take the cash bath like Disney.

It takes a lot of people to make a movie like this. I'll bet you have around 1,000 people involved. Cast makes up a very small percentage of that.

The long production timeline no doubt contributed to the loss as well.

Wasn't it something ridiculous, like the 7 magical beings?

And seriously, that picture will never stop being hilariously awful. Look at each of the characters. Some Jesus looking dude in the back, fat white guy, etc.

I was told this thing was just being review bombed by vicious racists. Not enough non-racists to make this profitable?

Or maybe review bombing is a myth, or do those racist review bombers just have an incredible track record?

My wife, who loves Snow White, and had no clue about the politics surrounding this movie, turned it off after about fifteen minutes. She was like “What the hell is this shite?”

Do you have any idea of the support it takes to make a movie like that? All those union and 'guild' workers gots to get paid. Everyone from the caterers to the top producers back down to the musicians and propmakers and back up to the director and back down to the prop makers and so on. On a big Hollywood production, there's probably a dozen unions involved which means for every 3 people doing something, another 3 people are getting paid to observe.

On the bright side there was a Diddy style White Party at the end of the film

This piece of the comment is obviously fuktarded, but the broader point that hundreds of people are being paid something close to a living wage on these massive productions is definitely a thing. It would probably take large percentage of the below-the-line employees to equal Gal Gadot's reported $15 million dollar salary for this. But yeah, it makes sense to blame the craft and tech people just making a living.

You just think it's the behind-the-scenes people I'm blaming? I'm not blaming anybody but the entire system itself with my hyperbole post.

I like the way Snarky Jay explains it. I don't know. she's got a way with words or something.

Everyone knew this would bomb the moment Rachel Zegler was announced as the lead.

I honestly dont think they care. Their agenda is way more important to them right now than profit.. That will change eventually but right now, they seem bound and determined to stay the course
