LeVar Burton has come out to say he 'was not just disappointed, but wrecked' after he was passed over for the position of Jeopardy! host last summer
Speaking to Newsy in a sitdown interview Tuesday, the 65-year-old longtime Reading Rainbow host finally aired out his grievances regarding
Experiencing a very public defeat - humiliation, if you will - was sobering,' Burton told host Christian Bryant in the interview with Newsy
Burton's desire to take on the lauded game show gig long held by late TV icon Alex Trebek had been well known following Trebek's tragic death in 2020,
Many pegged him as a favorite over candidates like Mike Richards, who got the gig but was ousted in August, and current hosts Ken Jennings and Mayim Bialik

I wanted to like LeVar, but he was pretty terrible in his stint as jeopardy host

He also did a very poor job in his audition week. Can't be mad about delivering a mediocre performance.

He should sue them for racism.

He got the audition episodes as a nod to the viewers and his fans.
He wasn't good. At all.
Jeopardy mishandled the entire audition process from the start.

The only "discrimination" that might have been in play would be the show not wanting a 65 year old guy with a marginal audition over a younger PHd actress who just come off one off the most popular sitcoms of all time that was devoted to smart people. She's got a good 10-15 years of work for this show.

Still amazed that fricking Blossom made a major comeback considering the show was a punch line at one point.
Hell, BBT was a comeback vehicle for her AND Johnny Galecki, who made his name on Roseanne in the 90s.

I think people want to faux be upset that he didn’t get selected because he played roles from their childhood, but the fact of the matter was he was bad. Like, Mayim Bialik isn't the best by any means, when I watch the show the cuts are pretty obvious when they have to go back and re-record her mess ups. But she looks like Daniel Day Lewis compared to this guy

I guess they couldn’t lower the bar enough for his liking. How sad

Same! I was rooting for him but he just wasn’t very good. Though, I’d probably still take him over Mayim Bialik, who is bad and not getting any better. Ken should just be made permanent host. He’s done really well and is getting better and more comfortable as time goes on.

And Mayim doesn't even need the $$$. She's really doing Jeopardy as a hobby. That entire cast and their grandchildren are all set for life.

Joe Buck was by far the best guest host.
Not sure why everyone thinks Ken was good. The fact he has a slight speech impediment should automatically disqualify him. I like him, but he's no host.

He was AWFUL as the host. Like, high school production level bad. What a piece of shite.

LeVar is just salty he didn't get the gig. The main reason being he wasn't any good at it.
