I always enjoyed it.

And love some Eric Bana. Sorely miss Eric Bana in movies these days. He was great in Hanna and Munich too.

What’s better, the original or the Director’s Cut?

Saw this movie at the theater when it came out. I was excited for it. I left the theater pretty underwhelmed. I just remember Brad Pitt's character as being very cheesy.

But maybe I should give it another watch. I've changed a lot in 20 years in some respects.

Awesome movie. One day I’ll be lazy enough to watch Gladiator, this, and Kingdom of Heaven back to back. All three were great.

With a worldwide box-office result of almost $500 million, the movie can be considered a huge success, even though the critics weren't that good.

Wolfgang Petersen paid almost $3 million for the new Director's Cut and worked on it with approx. 40 associates for three months because he didn't agree with the Theatrical Version. Due to the producers' pressure and a very tight schedule, the movie was completed pretty fast. There wasn't much time for the score either, that's why a lot of music has been edited or changed for the Director's Cut.

The Director's Cut of Troy completes many parts of the story line. The characters are much more interesting and many subplots are more suspense-packed...This is finally a Director's Cut that lives up to his name, definitely a recommendation for anyone.

Also Diane Kruger nekkid, top to bottom, in Directors Cut. The theatrical version censors out her cleavage for some reason, the movie is rated R for goodness sake.

movie was good. i enjoy it. it's nothing spectacular.
They did a great job casting, that's for sure.

Not sure you could have found a sexier Helen of Troy

Saffron Burrows and her DSLs were no slouch either.

And Orlando Blows Other Guys did a great job playing a little bitch, and he should have died.

My only issue with the movie is that the war allegedly happened over the course of years, but it only felt like weeks.

Per Homer I believe, the war would have only taken months for the Greeks to win if they remained on the beach. They kept on having to go on massive pirate raids to continue to get food.

That’s why it at types refers to Odysseus As a pirate. He was

DC. It’s not the same jump in quality as Kingdom of Heaven’s theatrical vs DC but it’s a noticeable improvement. The only issue is he chose to use a different score that doesn’t fit as well as theatrical.

The movie has IMO several “moments” that convey a trite type of feeling. Or cheesy. But is still a great one.
