Deny...ignore. I don't care what you call it. They haven't been addressed or refuted.

It's a Christmas movie. It was a Christmas movie before hipsters started calling it a Christmas movie. It's a Christmas movie now, despite the hipsters who say it isn't.

Get over it.

Christmas is about the nativity, not the sacrifice. For the sacrifice, you need an Easter-themed movie.

What a bunch of nonsense. Christmas movies largely ignore Jesus entirely.

I imagine it will as terrible as every other fan edit ever made, but have fun with it.

Yes they do. But that's irrelevant. You're the one who cited Jesus as a reason it was a Christmas movie, not me. All I did was point out that citing the "sacrifice" part is an Easter thing, not a Christmas one, so that portion of your argument is deeply flawed.

No, it isn't. You tried to make the point that "Christmas is about the nativity, not the sacrifice. For the sacrifice, you need an Easter-themed movie."

That's obviously not correct.

Your problem is that you're trying to debate the meaning behind the Christmas holiday. I don't care about that. We're discussing whether Die Hard is a Christmas movie or not, and your points are irrelevant to that.

I made my argument on page 1. No one bothered attempt to refute it because you can't refute it.

I ignored that because it annihilates the stance that it's not a Christmas movie

Instead of asking is it, can we ask why people are so intent to label it a non-Christmas movie? What does that achieve?

The point I was making is that they wouldn't have just suddenly rolled over and died because it happened on another day. Especially since it was a world-wide attack. If the aliens had arrived one day earlier and humans decided to counterattack on July 3, well, the odds are that July 3rd would become a world-wide holiday after the aliens are brought down on that day.

Yeah, but it was the president's speech that inspired the worldwide counter-offensive. It was the fact that it was Independence Day that inspired his speech. It was a central theme of the whole damn movie!!!

By your idiotic logic, most families get together on Easter as well as Christmas, so every Christmas movie whose plot revolves around families getting together isn't really a Christmas movie because it could just as easily be a Thanksgiving or an Easter movie and still have much of the same plot.

You're resorting to absurd reductionist logic to deny the obvious, that Die Hard is a Christmas movie and that Independence Day is an Independence Day movie.

Kinda like the despecialized Star Wars trilogy. Dude does this for a living, I’m confident if someone could make it coherent, he could do it. I don’t think he will though, got too many projects on his plate to care.

That's nice.

It doesn't mean he's good at it.

The whole reason this debate exists is douchebag Facebook morons that like to spam annoying memes. The same ones that post dumb memes like dihydrogen monoxide warnings.

This isn’t a classic movie debate like did Dottie drop the ball on purpose.

I didn't limit that to this thread. You mention social media often. I think we can safely assume this isn't the first time you've had a meltdown about Die Hard.

I’ve only debated die hard here, you are more than welcome to search if you want the answer. Not wasting my time on that. This is pretty much the only place I talk movies. Don’t have time for multiple BSing forums.

His wife’s name is even HOLLY. It’s a Christmas movie.

Also, the limo driver’s name is Argyle. What’s the most popular type of Christmas sweater? You guessed it, Argyle.
