I can see that. Who would you want for Link?
I mentioned this when it was announced, but Ganon will be the most important casting imo. It'll have to be someone intimidating but with depth (assuming he's written well like he was in Windwaker or Tears of the Kingdom).

So is Link going to be silent, or no?

That last Planet of the Apes movie was pretty good.
It was a great feat from Wes Ball considering he had nothing to work from. He didn’t have Caesar. He did a great job building good characters

Universal
That's who should be making all of these type movies.

This is either going to kick arse or be terrible..
No in-between.
Agreed. They are either gonna nail it or absolutely butcher it.
My great fear is they Marvel it up in terms of tone.
They could also completely mangle Link. If you've played all the games and had to characterize him, he's completely heroic, selfless, and never shows any hesitation to take on any challenge if it's what needs to be done. He doesn't complain or retreat. If they turn him into an unsure wuss or morally grey it would be a complete bastardization. Hollywood seems basically incapable of having true heroic characters anymore.
And being heroic doesn't mean he's invincible or always wins, Link regularly gets his arse kicked, often times by taking on challenges before he's ready to. His zeal to charge ahead without being fully prepared often times gets him into trouble.
You can have heroic characters be interesting. Luke Skywalker is a great example of a heroic character that still had a great arc. Link is very Luke like when you think about it.

Well buckle up. There's already a push for a transexual actor to play Zelda.

Idris Elba as Link
What a ridiculous suggestion. JGL or GTFO

Oh boy the meltdown in this board if she got the role. Kaiju would be posting so many YouTube videos

Zelda WAS a girl. Princess Zelda. Link was the hero. (Also best ever TD user debut thread)
Also not related Samus was a woman and the hero. I want a Metroid movie.

Hunter could be Zelda or Link. Maybe they'll try to save money and cast him as both.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes was awful. Hope this is a lot better.

Only if Nintendo keeps and iron thumb on the production, story, casting, art direction, and every other single aspect of the film. Becuase, if they learned any lesson from 1993, it's that Hollywood in no way, shape or form cna be trusted. And it's only gotten exponentially worse since then.
If they do this right, it will be a $1B+ film. Honestly, they should make it a trilogy over 3-4 Yrs, LOTR style.
