Lawrence of Arabia was playing today at the River Oaks Theater in Houston. Great movie but so much better on the big screen. The cinematography is visually stunning. A masterpiece.

LoA is what inspired Denis Villeneuve to shoot Dune the way he did. It has some of the most breathtaking cinematography in cinema.

Dad took us to see it at the Drive-in theater in the family station wagon. Good movie even for a 10 year old.

Omar comes pretty close with his constant bickering, nagging and doubting of Lawrence. The Arabs attempt to govern themselves at the end is like listening to a gaggle of geese.

I found it pretty uncanny how much Peter O'Toole resembled T.E. Lawrence without any over the top makeup to make it so.
Great movie by the way and one I watch again every few years.

I do think that Peter O’Toole as Lawrence is the single greatest performance of a leading actor in cinematic history. Just a truly mesmerizing performance.
And Lawrence of Arabia might be the single film that has held up the best in cinematic history as well. It’s just as epic today as it was when it was released. It’s pretty indisputably a Top 10 film ever made and everyone needs to see it.

Yes, and in a strange plot twist, she was his double first cousin.

David Lean! IMDb
The Bridge on the River Kwai 1957
Lawrence of Arabia 1962
Doctor Zhivago 1965
Ryan's Daughter 1970
A Passage to India 1984
All beautifully shot movies.
Even the landscape shots in black & white Great Expectations (1946) and Oliver Twist (1948) are great. His movies were made for the wide screen.
