Has anyone else watched this film? It is free on tubi and I just happened to catch it while browsing through endless B movies. It is obviously low budget and is pretty bold with the subject matter, as well as it doesn't have a big time amazing cast. I was just curious if anyone else had watched this and their thoughts.

It reminded me a lot of Coherence and the Triangle, it is one of those types. Im torn between it being awful and extremely clever.

Alright overall.

It just made too much sense for my liking.

It was that low budget indie movie a few years back that was good, or at least I really liked it. I always use Coherence as my example that a good plot/story can overcome a lack of big budget. Not sure if Coherence is still on prime or anything, it was not long ago. Based on an old story about a comet passing Earth and making people in a little town do weird stuff, and other physics shite. lol.

Coherence Trailer

ETA: Lake Artifact makes less sense, at least with regard to comparing the two but both have a range of theories.

Never heard of it, but it does look like it's still on Amazon Prime.

quote:

Relying on a low budget of $50K, the movie was shot over five nights in a single location with dialogue that was largely improvised.

The set only had 5 crew members: 2 sound guys, the director of photography, the director, and producer.

Instead of scripts, the actors would each receive only a small paragraph (that only they would see) as their 'goals' for the day. This allowed for the story to unfold naturally and create genuine reactions in the other actors.

Sounds pretty interesting.

Maybe not everyone likes it, but it was at a little film fest in BR years back and my roommate saw it and eventually he got me to watch it and I have watched it many more times trying to go through the different theories. It definitely has a great plot, imo. You would probably enjoy it.

It is not the movie of the year or anything, but I am a sucker for those kind of movies and shows and I knew others here were so I thought some others may have come across it. Ignore the documentary footage interview stuff, as it explains things and plays a critical plot role in general. I know sometimes when I see doc style interviews in a movie I immediately tune out.

This and the "mind-bending physics on a low-budget" aspect reminds me of Primer for some reason—a dark movie about the consequences of two guys building a sort of time machine in their garage.

Certainly sounds like something I'd like. I'll check it out.

Haven't seen but I will look it up. I love these sort of movies. I have seen The Triangle, but I read that The Boat" is in the same universe as The Triangle. I need to watch it and find out.

Of the films mentioned here:

I liked Coherence. It was definitely weird but I dig it well enough.

I really liked Triangle. That one was very cool.

And Primer is excellent. One of the best sci-fi movies of all time IMO. And arguably the best time travel film.

I may have to check this one out.

Yeah I am going to try to find Primer after the LSU game. I don't wanna hype Lake Artifact up too much (you may hate it as it has more of a horror element to it) but its in that same sort of genre and I randomly watched it and came away thinking it was a good find in a sea of tubi movies that tried to tackle a lot of heavy subjects like in Coherence.

Y’all might want to check out The Endless. From the indie directors Marvel hired for Moon Knight

I put this on after the game... so far it looks like they overpaid.

I liked that one. Also liked their previous movie Resolution, which has some crossover with The Endless

I liked The Endless a lot. But weirdly, never wanted to see the other two films in that trilogy. But The Endless was pretty solid.

And BM, I love horror so that wouldn't bother me at all.

Haven't heard of Spring or the Endless, I am looking them up now. Now that I looked Primer up I have definitely seen the cover as I scrolled through prime or something but hadn't watched it. Excellent, three new movies to watch.

Upon looking, I have seen the Resolution and the Endless and was totally unaware that they were in the same "universe." Definitely need to rewatch.

Thanks for the recommendations.

Also besides Resolution, what is the other movie that relates to the Endless?
