Nice work sloth, I have been googling each of these and a lot of that streaming info is old lol. I didn't mean to put any spoilers above about Lake Art. as its hardly the best movie I here I don't think it matters, but sorry if that did lol.

This website will tell you what streaming services a particular movie is available on: Justwatch.com

I use Reelgood. Same type of service/website.

I absolutely love Cube

Went with Cube as the next on my list, and it was an interesting concept, but the acting was pretty rough. Other than that, it didn't even really seem like a low-budget movie. Great set design.

Reminded me a bit of The Platform on Netflix (political commentary aside).

Is the Triangle on any streaming service?

I watched it recently on the free version of Peacock — commercials at the very beginning, but luckily none throughout.

I need to watch Primer again. Its been years and I did not understand that movie the first time I watched it.

IMO this is one of those movies like Donnie Darko, where it's an interesting viewing the first time, but really only fully makes sense when you look up some sort of guide online. After you do that, it clicks a bit more the second time, or at least it did for me.

I feel like I need to rewatch it after your previous comment about the characters in the documentary scenes

I haven't watched Cube (or any of the sequels) in a million years, but that reminds me that I need to watch Meander

It's currently streaming on Amazon Prime.

I almost mentioned Coherence and Donnie Darko in the OP about having a great story beating a big budget (but I wasn't sure if DD actually was that low budget for the time with the actors it had). Great movie, the director's cut shows pages of the book to the viewer so it guides the viewer better and makes much more sense. Not sure why they cut that part out. Lots of great fan theories on that movie.

SPOILERS ON LAKE ARTIFACT:

@Sloth, I don't want to spoil, I just thought Tommy and Thomas (the version of the white hitchhiking one we see at the end was never in the original timeline and had met the initial crazy coked out guy) and met the original Tommy from the house scenes (when Thomas asks "Have we met" or whatever he says). The interviewer(s) at the end, when they find the crazy original guy from the truck, is called Thomas (either one Tommy or Thomas) and the crazy original guy says, like he is talking to two people, "how the frick did you find me?" "what do you want?" like its both of them doing the documentary scenes. Idk just my theory but it might not make sense.

SPOILERS ON LAKE ARTIFACT:

Right, I noticed the crazy original guy from the truck, but I need to rewatch to see if the other characters are the other people being interviewed. But wasn't one of the rules that only 1 person could escape? If so, how would the other characters have escaped to appear in the documentary? Are you saying that in the various timelines, each character could have been "the one" who escaped?

I went to IMDB and the cast list didn't help me solve this mystery .

And WOW, I didn't realize that the actress who plays Grace is Alexandra Daddario's sister!

SPOILERS:

Didn't realize that either, I didn't recognize any of the actors/actresses. But yeah, basically, there is a continuous loop and each one made it out alive in their own timeline. But like the original cast a1, b1, c1, etc., at the end is a1 and b2. Idk I could be way off on that and it might not even make sense. It was just where I thought it was going and why they put the off-putting interview documentary parts in there (as well as to explain the story). Such as the older version of one of them who comes back, he survived it and went back for his gf and to tell them, so he obviously made it out in one version of the loop and he isn't who we see survive at the end.

As for crazy original coke guy in the truck, I suppose he was the first and somehow is cursed to have to keep reliving it forever or something, idk I need to rewatch it and try to find some other fan theories.

@Borris

Ahhh, okay, I get what you're saying now. It'd definitely be interesting to do another watch with that theory in the back of my mind.

@sloth, I could be way off on that, or there could be major holes that don't make sense. That is why I like these movies so much. Watching Mr. Nobody now. I've been wanting to watch I Origins forever just because of the Boardwalk Empire guy but I don't want to rent it, so I'm gonna keep an eye out for when its streaming somewhere.

Came across another one call "Flashback," had that guy who is in a lot of stuff recently in it (the football guy from The OA).

Didn't see any threads come up when I googled it with tiger droppings but if someone can explain that one to me it would be greatly appreciated.

Rewatched it and I am pretty sure that, that theory is plausible under the whole premise and plot of the movie.

Okay, so I watched Lake Artifact today. Didn’t like it much at all and thought it was borderline terrible.

It just didn’t make a lot of sense, despite it being fairly obvious as to what it was trying to do. It was just executed poorly, acted VERY poorly, and was all in all pretty boring.

Maybe it just missed me, but I don’t know why it gets the love (maybe love is a strong word, but people seem to like it) it does in this thread.

I was just saying I liked it for what it was..a tubi find sort of in the same spirit as coherence. I was also trying to see if anyone had watched it and if my interpretation was all off.

Jumping in to suggest The Infinite Man on Tubi TV. Very mind bendy time travel with just three actors. But the plot really begins to layer on itself. It’s a scientist trying to get his girlfriend back by redoing a bad date that split them up. It’s really great.

Thanks for rec, I've been looking for new movies in this genre and they aren't always easy to find.

what was in coherence?

Coherence and Primer are 2 of my favorite low budget, Indy sci-fi films.

Just watch coherence knowing nothing about it going in. That’s what I did and loved it.

Y’all might want to check out The Endless

This one was OK. Of all the films mentioned on this thread, The Endless was my least favorite.

Another low budget sci-fi film I enjoyed (though different than the ones mentioned in this thread) was The Vast of Night. Slow burn not a lot of action but a good story.

No mention of The History of Time Travel? It's on Prime:

https://www.amazon.com/History-Time-Travel-Daniel-May/dp/B07PB7BK7L/

The acting and production is really cheesy, but if you can make it to the end, you'll see that it's a clever tale of how we got to where we are now.
