The History of Time Travel is great. Really cool, and in the middle of it you're like "Wait, what the frick?" until it starts making more sense.

The Vast of Night is awesome. One of the best and most well-done alien-type movies honestly, which is weird because it's executed so simply. But it's great.

Guess I’ll need to add these to the list.

Just FYI, History is a mockumentary style movie. It's also not very long IIRC. Just a heads up though...it's less of a "movie" and more of a project type film, if that makes sense.

The Vast of Night is an actual movie though, and it's fantastic.

I'm interested to see peoples' thoughts on these if anybody actually watches them.

Going to watch the Vast night tonight and watch the History of Time tomorrow since no SEC baseball games until Friday. I liked the movie recommended earlier (The Infinite Man), I just finished it.

ETA: NVM I've seen the Vast of Night and liked it a while back, so I'll do a rewatch.

Managed to catch both of these—you're right, together, they're only about 2.5 hours of combined run time.

At first the acting in The History of Time Travel seems atrocious, but once it gets going, it's actually pretty interesting. I ended up really enjoying the premise. Fun movie.

I thought The Vast of Night was amazing. Low budget notwithstanding, this is just a really good movie overall. Tense throughout, good acting, and technically extremely well put together. The long single takes and especially that one tracking shot across town was unreal for this type of film. Great character piece that I would totally recommend for anyone who likes this genre.

I think Vast and Triangle are my favorites in this thread so far.

Told you...glad you liked it.

I may need to rewatch Triangle soon. I haven't seen it in years, but I loved it.

Also, don't remember in the thread or not, but are you one of the ones that hasn't seen Primer yet? Because that may be the best of the bunch in this thread.

Yep, Primer is one of my favorites in this genre too.

As mentioned earlier, it looks like we've ranked them pretty similar so far. Keep those recommendations comin'!
