it's a good story and i'm not an SJW when it comes to native americans. most of them were terrible people and i'm glad we won the indian wars.

Most of the natives were terrible people? How do you figure that? From their perspective they were trying to fend off an invading force. If aliens came down and started taking over America with ray guns, we’d probably be assholes too. People are just people

Orrrr, it could be portrayed as the righteous and courageous victory over the bloodthirsty savages.

The true story of this is pretty cut and dry. Natives had oil money and whites didn't like that the natives had a bunch of money so they made laws that required natives to have a white guy in charge of their money which obviously led the white guys to steal the money and, in some cases, kill the natives and claim all the money for themselves.

i know there are exceptions, but please let me know the tribes that did not have rape, murder, and pillaging of other nations for 100 years before Europeans showed up.

America was not better for the most part, don't get me wrong.

well europeans did that too and I think people showing up and killing everyone would and is generally still frowned upon.

also, this happened in the 1920. this is not a “it’s complicated because it was different back then” situation. this was generally recognized as wrong then too.

So if any tribe, nation or group of people has individuals who commit rape, murder, and pillaging, that automatically means that most people in that tribe, nation or group are horrible people? That's weird.

I'd still like to hear about the religion of "judeo christianity". I've never heard of it before.

So did literally every country in Europe. Is everyone inherently evil?

you tried that earlier in the thread and it was pretty weak then.

values used/misused/miscontrued and abused coming from the Jewish and Christian spreading from Europe during the 1000s did the greatest service to the world in advancing us out of the dark ages possible in regard to the advancement of science, healthcare, and society.

don't be obtuse.

Another let's paint history into the way hollywood wants to see it since it is based on a true story, not that any outcome would have been different in history as the country developed over time - good or bad or indifferent!

After reading the book, I can safely say you're an idiot.

This looks good btw. Looking forward to seeing this.

But I’ll be watching for sure. Scorcese directing Deniro and DiCaprio? I’m in.

You do know this is like 2 - 3 generations after they were settled on the reservation, right?

Some of my own motherfricking grandparents were alive when this shite happened. This isn't in the that distant past.

Her being attractive would work against the plot of the story.

You can have an attractive woman play the role of an American Indian and still have her husband betray her for money. It happens all the time.

My grand pappy, God rest his soul, passed down his knowledge and love of history to me.

He wasn't worldly or well educated, but when he finally got a TV he loved watching westerns. They were an extension of the dime novels others read to him when he was a kid. Injuns were always the villains he'd say. He never met one, but he sure hated those bastards. Terrible people he used to call em who to a person deserved all the bad things they got. Miss his wisdom to this day.

have no clue about this story. But your Osage were notoriously vicious murderers and pillagers to the other tribes around them in Arkansas.

The Caddo and the Quapaw hated them.

I don’t see where any of that justifies what happened to them decades later when they were settled on a reservation in Oklahoma. But you do you.

Where was it stated anything was 'justified?' Simply said the story is foreign and that the Osage Indians were pretty bad dudes back in the day. Don't even know what the story is about.
