What people think they post: Well I certainly don't agree with this, and I feel Star Wars is not to appropriate vehicle to spread this message.

shite, the only entertaining parts of RoP and The Acolyte are people calling out political bullshite. As I've said many times, every character could be a white guy and it would still be crap. Don't act like it's a one-way street, like others seem to be asserting. The only reason any of the threads have political arguments that 'go on for page after page' is because the same cast of characters run in to tell people they should ignore their eyes and ears.

You have no interest in the show besides politics.
If you wanna discuss the politics of the shows, make a thread on the politics of RoP or the acolyte rather than inserting political BS into the episode threads.

I think Chicken has been comprimised. This site has really started limiting speech which is what made it special to begin with.

(And some that never watch it all and just spam Nerdtrotic videos to the board) They just start shitting on things at the announcement, or the casting, or the trailer drops. That's what every nerd I've ever known does about nearly everything. Even stuff that nerds really love they nitpick to death
Censoring everything misses the point. Individually we don't have to read or respond to things we hate. Especially we don't have to seek out the people we disagree with
In retrospect I think the Acolyte needed an Acolyte Hate Watching thread and an Acolyte True Believer thread. There's no mitigating the difference in personal perspective between Kaj and Sammy but they probably both deserve a forum.
Maybe it (the Acolyte for example) should just be separated to keep it more readable.

I see almost no one express understanding and respect for opposite perspectives.
Almost always we get gaslighting, ad hominem attacks, rudeness, and straw man arguments.
Usually the perspective is just a different belief about harm and risk. And both sides are generally of the belief that the other side is not only wrong but morally flawed.

There were many, many, many issues with The acolyte that have nothing to do with what the vast majority in that thread were bitching about. The awful acting. The piss poor writing. The story everyone knew was coming. Shitty set design. It was shitty.
