Supposedly the show was originally gonna end after 5 seasons with Tony getting killed by Johnny Sac and Feech. With the final scene being a backwards version of the intro.

Falco was the best actor in the show behind Gandolfini. I HATE Janice, skipped through every scene with her during my rewatch.

do you understand that the mafia is a paramilitary organization? Those yes men often questioned Tony,

Right. It’s not good for Tony that he had to remove otherwise competent guys but he just can’t have disloyalty. This is not a team of rivals.

But I’ve said this before. By the end, it seems Tony just has a small handful of old dudes around him and less firepower than many suburban dads. Law enforcement need not do anything. Those guys were busy killing each other off and rendered themselves weak and irrelevant.

This would have been awesome. I didn't like the intro the first couple of times I watched it. I can't get enough of it now.

What does that mean exactly? He starts off at home and ends up where?

He drives from his home NJ to a location in NYC to meet with Johnny Sac.

The guys sitting around the safe house showed just how small his posse was.

Leotardo called them a crew for a reason.

In season 4. Some loose ends from previous seasons, do they get resolved?

Russian in the Barrens? Car missing?
Gloria come back?
Melfi's rapist?

The Russian situation was never resolved…one of the biggest complaints about the show…

like the OP, just watched for the first time, finally. Finished it up last night.

The Bobby death hit me the hardest of any of them in the series. Sil a close second.

I can imagine why there was such uproar over the final scene amongst those who watched the show during it's run. During a binge watch, I didn't mind it.

Unless you were living under a rock during the 2000s, you knew about the controversial ending even if you hadn't watched the show, so I knew it was coming...although I didn't really know any of the details surrounding it. Because of that, the build up to it once they make the decision to have dinner together was incredibly tense for me.

Just restarted watching it for a 2nd time. About to wrap up the 1st season, but I am enjoying it more than the 1st time. It's a perfect show.

The first time you watch it you focus on the mafia aspects of it.

The more you watch the show the more you realize how in depth it really is, how great the dialogue and writing is, and how fricking hilarious the show is. The scene where Chris shows up to the bing to tell them Vito is gay still cracks me the frick up

Paulie was a badass…but also kind of a pussy? Him helping the other new york family was worthy of getting killed.

Paulie was the only one on the show who was a former monster IRL and to be on the show he demanded that

1. His character could never be a rat to the Feds
2. His character couldn’t be killed

He didn’t want to lose the respect of his old mob buddies back home

That’s literally the whole premise of the show and why he was in therapy
