Anyway, I subscribe to the theory that Patsy ultimately had Tony killed at the end.

After watching it again I strongly believe it was actually Butch DeConcini from the Lepertazzi family that had killed. He used Tony to get Phil killed so he could become boss.

But…
The guy wearing the Members Only jacket could’ve been related to Eugene Pontecorvo. In season six, Vito made fun of Eugene for wearing a Members Only jacket. That guy in the restaurant could’ve been related and wanted Tony dead for being responsible for Eugene’s suicide. Farfetched but I still believe Butch had Tony killed.

I think the most evidence points to Butch/New York being responsible. The plan was to always cut the head off of the snake and do business with whatever is left. I think Paulie & Patsy would be okay with that. In the overall mafia game it’s ironic that Not Phil or Tony, but Butchie that came out on top.

For years I thought it was Gene, but Butchie really makes sense…for one thing, would Gene have had people with enough clout to take out a boss? I think not. It was probably New York.

It is the greatest show in television history, and there’s really not a close second, unless it’s True Detective season 1…I’ve watched both shows 50 times.

This cat gets it.

I find True Detective Season 1 to be the best season of any show in the history of TV. The Sopranos, from beginning to end, is easily the greatest show ever (my opinion, of course).

I think it’s somewhat the point. It kind of mirrors real life. If you go down a rabbit hole on it, between rats and RICO, the mob is pretty dysfunctional nowadays. The days of the iconic bosses are over. Butchie went from a soldier in Phil’s crew to the boss of a family in like a year. It’s a theme in the show from the first episode (Tony talking about how much more successful he is than his father, but coming in at the end of an era).

Trying to finish up season 4 but it’s become a slog. Just watched the intervention episode tonight. The highlights of the episode were Paulie taking the horse painting home and Tony fricking the one legged Russian woman.

This has easily been the worst season so far, though. I’d probably rank them as 3,2,1,4….with 3 and 2 being very close, 1 being a little behind 2, and a substantial gap between 1 and 4.

The Furio/Carmela storyline blows

If you didn’t laugh your arse off during the intervention scene, you might as well stop watching.

Normally I would say everyone has a right to their opinion, but in your case I’ll make an exception. I want to congratulate you for having the worst taste in cinema history.

I could’ve done without the 5-6 episodes of Vito’s gay drama away from the gang.

Tell me you didn’t get The Sopranos without telling me you didn’t get The Sopranos. This is the best example of how the show was ahead of it’s time and still to this day one of the most powerful portrayals of the dangers of blood pressure medication.

I have one more episode of season 2. What was the point of the Richie Aprile character? I mean, he shows up, cause some trouble for Tony, Junior outs him, and Tony's sister kills him unrelated to any of the other story lines.

Wow...

Sylvio's intervention speech was one of my favorite moments

"When I came in one morning you were there with your head half in the toilet. Your hair was in the toilet water.... disgusting."

Richie is really what you’re griping about? Really? Damn man…if you can’t appreciate Richie you don’t need to watch anymore…seriously. Go back to Sex And The City.

That's pretty much every season..

First episode they'll unveil who the 'guest star' is that will eventually be dead by end of season

I would rank the seasons best to worst:

6B, 5, 2, 1, 3, 6A, 4

6A and 4 are close, but I think the first 3 episodes of 6A are outstanding and set the table for 6B’s greatness.

With that being said even the lesser seasons are amazing television

Fair enough. Just seemed weird to me that Janice killed him right before they get married. Seemed out of place.

Richie was probably the best antagonist of the entire series.
