John Boyega says The Last Jedi was the worst film of the Star Wars sequel trilogy

Boyega did a pre-taped interview with First We Feast’s Truth Or Dab: Rapid Fire, where he fielded a series of quick Hot Ones-style questions, the most controversial of which was when he was asked to rank the three Star Wars movies he appeared in.
Boyega, who’s charming throughout video, appears positively gleeful at the prospect of stirring a bit of franchise shite up, and rattles off his rankings with the ease of someone who had this hierarchy close at hand. Number one, with a bullet? The Force Awakens, “most definitely the best.” The Rise Of Skywalker comes in second. “And then the worst—in the most respectful sense—is Episode VIII. But they’re all lovely.” Boyega then shoots a bit of side-eye for the benefit of the camera, suggesting he wasn’t entirely enamored of his character Finn’s very long side trip to Canto Bight in Rian Johnson’s The Last Jedi.

It’s baffling to me how Disney can be wrong so many times about so many things. It’s like their entire plan was to take up as many popular franchises as possible and completely destroy them. And they just keep doing it. Finally the money is talking.

Star wars isn't destroyed though. We have gotten mandalorian and andor as well as the less liked obi wan and book of Boba fett.
And another trilogy in the works
If bad movies could kill star wars we wouldn't have had anything after the 2nd trilogy .

Poor Boyega. It wasn't his fault that the ST sucked. Most of the acting is good, actually, but no acting could have saved those movies.

Its not destroyed, but damaged.
Mandalorian saved it. Disney needs to fire KK and put Filoni in charge of Lucasfilm

Hand the keys to Tony Gilroy and call it a day.

He was never well written. His character just didn't fit in that universe. Rey was the only real interesting one from TFA but they dropped the ball on her as well in the second one.
Writing was just garbage for the trilogy. I think they cast some good people but had no clue what to do with them.

Even though season 3 of Mandalorian was awful, it injected life into the franchise, and Andor showed they don't have to be kid shows. There are smart and creative people that want to be a part of Star Wars, let them cook.
I remember an interview with some people who had worked on a Star Wars video game (was eventually cancelled) and they said it was most pain in the arse experience. Any decision they made about a character, be it clothing or type of weapon they used, had to be run by the powers that be because the micro manage Star Wars down to the gnats hair. Star Wars had been boring to me for a long time because it was always the same crap. They need to loosen the reigns and let some new ideas come forth.

He was written well enough in TFA. His character brought a feeling of humanity to the Storm troopers. A storm trooper that defected is an interesting storyline. Too bad they turned it into this in TLJ

If I was them, once whatever is already shot is done, take a break.
Fire KK, put someone like Filoni in charge, and take a few YEARS to come up with a plan and do a full reset.
Less content, but the RIGHT content.
That won't happen though.

This is why Twilight was so successful , the books specifically.
The main character is written with little detail, like a blank slate, which allowed the girl readers a more easier time to insert THEMSELVES as the main character and to conform the main character to them.
Men are designed to become
Women are designed to utilize
Men’s worth is based on what they become
Women’s worth is based on the men they can control

Rogue One was the only tolerable film of the most recent batch of dingle-berries Kathleen Kennedy put out.

Disney dropped the ball badly on Finn and missed a huge opportunity to tell a compelling story. The storyline of a defected stormtrooper could have been extremely interesting.
They could haven interwoven things like:
- some aspects of PTSD from things he’d seen
- self-loathing for things he’d done
- a sense of ‘fish out of water’ learning social norms and humor since he was basically stolen at birth and brainwashed his whole life
- a sense of distrust from the other Rebels given his background
- an inner struggle given his aforementioned brainwashing
But instead he just adapts immediately and none of the above is ever addressed whatsoever.

the Sequels suck but the Mandolorian is some of the best IP to come out of the franchise since the OT.

He could have very easily had they written him better, but what do you expect when those in charge aren't interested in making a good Star Wars movie, adn are more interested in diversity and other stupid shite.
And Rey was interesting until she was not. Rey should not have been the main character. It should have been Ezra, but you know, the force is female.
the story with the holocrons would have made a whole lot more sense with Ezra as the main character, and bringing back Palpatine would have made more sense that way.
