She looks a little bit like Holzhauer in drag.

Damn, they had to clone him in order to beat him!

PARTIAL SPOILERS:

I'm amazed spoilers hadn't slipped out sooner, considering how far ahead the shows are recorded and how many audience members must pass in and out of the studio.

Still, I didn't see anything until I watched the show today. 3 strong players. No questions unanswered in the first round, only one clue stumped them in double jeopardy. And they all got FJ right. And FJ and at least one of the DD's were kinda tricky today. Strong match.

Won't be surprised if Holzhauer was tired of being on Jeopardy, bet against himself and threw the game. After all, he is a professional gambler based out of Las Vegas.

So, will he be considered the greatest player ever, holding all top 10 single day winning, #2 in all time winnings (done in 32 days), and averaging $74,000 a day for 32 day?

Or will Jennings still hold the title as the greatest?

What was up with his final jeopardy wager? Seemed odd he risked so little. He still would have lost by $1 had he went all in but it was weird for him to risk such a low amount. Guess he was just hoping she would get the question wrong

I guess anything is possible, but the chick who won wrote her master's thesis on Jeopardy! strategy. She was no slouch, and neither was the 3rd Place finisher.

greatest player ever...?

Subjectively, I think most will say he is. Even Jennings is in awe over James' speed and accuracy (Watch James on the game show, The Chase, narrated by Jennings on youtube).

I think it's kind of like most people agree Bo Jackson is the GOAT RB, except for Cowboys fans & Emmitt Smith's family who objectively point out Emmitt's all-time records as irrefutable evidence.

He went out the way I think most figured he would. He ran into a strong player that beat him to the daily doubles and bested him at his own game.

I think a better comparison would be Pedro Martinez vs. Roger Clemens/Greg Maddux as pitchers. Pedro had the greatest, most mind blowing peak ever but Maddux and Clemens had much better overall careers and were the greater pitchers. It’s one thing if it’s something like 74 to 66 but 74 to 32 is an enormous gap.

Finding the daily double on the first clue might have screwed him.

I don't think he was getting tired of making 75K every 25 minutes.

That's pretty much the only way he could have won. It was a smart betting strategy that has been used before. James has been studying Jeopardy for years, so I'm positive he knew how he would bet in this situation.

He was protecting against the guy in the middle. If James was wrong, and the guy in the middle was right (and bet it all), James still would have beaten him with that wager.

He knew she would have to miss it in order for him to win, so he was guarding his other flank.
