The producers are getting desperate. They put him up against an Asian and he still steamrolled.

And how many did you say you got right this year?

ETA: Which test did you take?

What time is it regularly broadcast in other areas?

Houston moved it back to 1PM which sucks, so I DVR and watch later.

It's on in the AM some places, including an Alabama affiliate I think, because the Jeopard sub on reddit would have recaps and video posted (before that got shut down) usually by midday.

Was this a result of the online test from two weeks ago? That is a fast turn around if so. What was your score?

I used to watch that guys uploads. I believe it was whatever affiliate they have up in Gadsden, which is different from Birmingham since it doesn't air until 3:30cst.

I estimated 39 correct

Adult.

In full disclosure, a good friend of mine was on the show a few months ago and he vouched for me to the producers. I'm guessing that had something to do with it.

Yep, and I'm guessing that I scored a 39 (I definitely got 11 wrong).

I don't get why people are saying he can't be beat

Hot take after had his closest game in 19 days and has beat 38 contestants.

he goes against another good player like today

The guy he beat set the Jeopardy for a non-winning score

I'm sure players like him are all over the place waiting to get on the show.

I said that during the first week, arse. It is going to take someone good and with the balls to beat him at his own game. There were a couple games where contestants were ringing in ahead of him a good percentage of the time. He just found the daily doubles which is pure luck and that was all she wrote.

I thought he had a bit of the high functioning Assburgers but the weird look on his face makes sense with him being half Asian.

Why not? Location out of town? Bad calendar date - wedding/graduation? overseas vacation? School? (please tell me it's not school)

As I noted in an earlier post, there are only 4 of these nationwide on a regional basis (at least back in 2013). I was lucky in that mine was in in New Orleans, but folks came in from as far away as Austin, Tennessee, North Carolina and South Florida for the audition, many of them even paying to fly in.

Ya gotta do what ya gotta do...

Do they talk to you about stalling at all?

I've watched several episodes where it was less than a minute to go and the leader hits a daily double with a few clues left. The money left on the board could have been the difference in either the trailing player getting within twice as much as the leader's even if the leader more than doubled the trailer's score with a correct DD answer.

For this reason, it would be in the leader's best interest to stall prompting Alex to chime in while making a wager and answering so more time would run out in the round.

I have always thought that the clock did not run during daily doubles, or when Alex is reading a question.

I'm pretty sure it is constantly running because there can be several clues left on the board if the round stumps a particular set of contestants and time runs out.

Won another $100K today.

I guess Alex Trebek was on GMA this morning and said he's battling bouts of depression.

Me too. Everytime I'm reminded he's got pancreatic cancer.
