You obviously didn't read my post. Here...let me point it out for you:

If a white actor were to ever be cast in a traditionally black role, it would immediately be seen as racist and as cultural appropriation.

When has Moses or Noah ever been played by a black actor?

Russel Crowe as Noah in "Noah"
Ben Affleck as Antonio J. Mendez in "Argo"
Pretty much everyone in the terrible "Avatar the last Airbender" movie
Johnny Depp as Tonto in the Lone Ranger
Christian Bale as Moses in "Exodus: Gods and Kings"
Jake Gyllenhall as Dastan in "Prince of Persia"
Liam Neeson as Ra's Al Ghul in "Batman Begins" and "Dark Knight Rises"
Carey Mulligan as Irene in "Driver"

He said “traditionally black roles”...

It's a damn movie series. Continue on being a narrow minded idiot though. There's zero reason why bond can't be a minority. Daniel Craig looks nothing like the description either.

There's also zero reason why Hermione Granger can't be a middle aged black woman even though she was always portrayed by a white woman. My only question is why?

The James Bond franchise is closing in on its 60th anniversary. For 56 years and 24 (soon to be 25) films, the character has been played exclusively by white actors. The character in the novels has always been white, as have all of the pencil drawings, ink sketches, and paintings. The creator of James Bond (who was white) modeled the character off of himself as well as his personal experiences in World War II.

What is the reason for changing the color of the character's skin this late into the ballgame? Also...what do you think people would say if they rebooted Blade and cast someone like Casey Affleck as the main protagonist? People would flip their shite! So don't pretend to be offended towards people who aren't big on the idea of casting a minority in the role of 007.

Moses and Noah were middle eastern. So by your rules, they shouldn't be played by white people.

And you are saying that your thesis is only about black people? So you'd be cool if a Hispanic, Asian, or Indian played bond?

But have they been traditionally played by white people or by middle easterners? See the wording in my OP. Clearly you didn't do too well on the reading comprehension section of the ACT. And by the way, there was some backlash in the press concerning the cast of Exodus: Gods and Kings.

Please re-read my OP before asking me anymore questions. It's clear you are just looking to start an argument for the sake of arguing.

So because white people historically would cast white people to play minority roles it should stay that way?

But you're right, i totally misread your original post. I went straight from the poli-board to here and there's definitely I owe you a mea culpa. My bad

If it is ‘just a movie’, why are some people so desperate to have a black James Bond?

Is it extra racist if a black man’s absent father is a white man?

People do realize that Idris Elba isn't the only black British actor in existence, right?

I mean, if they want a black Bond, there are other younger options.

they were, as well as pretty much everyone else from the bible, but we are taught to assume they were just white back then, and didn't look like a traditional middle eastern muslim.

I like Idris Elba a lot... but he doesn’t have the look for this role, for obvious reasons.

Look, Phillip Seymour Hoffman was a great actor, but I wouldn’t cast him as James Bond because he doesn’t have the right look.

I wouldn’t cast Robert DeNiro as James Bond either.

I hate this nonsense of re-casting iconic characters as minorities or women to make a “splash” and the people involved can pat each other on the back about how progressive they are.
