I remember a lack of selling the premise of the show (It's a Marvel Property on Disney+ is the extent of said selling). The Episodes 1 & 2 Synopses I read is also very lacking in what might be going on.

I know enough of the comics storylines to know that Wanda (primarily) and Vision (usually a secondary) have enough PTSD related events that reality warping powers are just the beginning of a bad acid trip, god forbid they use the Ultimate Universe Storylines.

I realize now this thread is "No Spoilers", but nobody but Disney have seen beyond episodes 1 & 2.

What's the story setting up as the antagonist?

ETA: I think they will pull it off, and I think I know where it is heading

it isnt' that bad - I enjoyed the 1st 2, as did my wife. there is some real creepiness and tension that starts building in about 1/2 way though the 2nd episode.

the main issue is people, in general, expect instant results, action and so on immediately instead of allowing the episodes to play out for the bigger picture/payoff. in a way marvel kind of set that expectation in play based on the movies, but people need to step back and relax.

let the show play out before making complaints about something. if Marvel has shown anything, it is that they have a pretty good idea of what they are doing.

I think people might be used to the marvel movies as like this is her origin story but it’s really just a show to set up the plot for future movies

It hasn't even really gotten started yet. It's set up this idyllic sitcom world that Wanda and Vision live in but you can see that there's something wrong underneath the surface. Let the show breathe a little bit before you judge.

Anyone who says that is victim to the all too common fallacy today of believing all the mystery should be solved immediately. The slow burn is panned now?

I like the build so far. It’s completely different than any other Marvel property and they went full bore into the classic sitcoms. Literally feels like watching something out of those eras ... except for when you get clued into something not being quite right, then it quickly turns unsettling. I, for one, am intrigued to see where it goes.

I enjoy seeing Olsen and Bettany showcasing their talents and range. Listen to the carefully worded dialogue, clear foreshadowing throughout so it all has a purpose. Be patient and enjoy the ride

I wouldn’t say it’s bad. It’s different. I also get the sense that the first couple of episodes are setting things up for good things later.

We will see.

I think it's pretty obvious what's going to happen. Wanda and Vision will live their lives as if they were living in a tv show of certain era with little weird shite happening and more frequently as the show goes on. Waiting for the inevitable shite storm that will come near the end

Possible spoiler:

I don’t know about that. Certain things from the first 2 episodes make me think some of this is happening in Wandas head.

Like the radio talking to her. Some voice asking “who’s doing this to you?”

I think it will all make sense in the end.

I can't lie, it sounds very well done, on the premise. Knowing the backstory of Wanda Maximoff, her losing her parents, brother, and then Vision , to then see her in this perfect sitcom world she's constructed. I'd say it has high potential.

Even if I don't have D+.

Most of the board likes it. Get over yourselves. Marvel is allowed to do something different

It's setting something up, but for people with a limited background knowledge of the characters (other than MCU) and no reference to the easter eggs, it's pretty nonsensical to this point.

I haven't watched the show and really never planned on it, but I am intrigued at what little I've read about from real people who say it's one of the single worst shows they've ever seen through the first couple of episodes.

Apparently nothing happens.
We didn't make it thru the 1st episode. I thought it was really, really bad.

It blows my mind that people are taking this show at face value based on those first two episodes.

It’s like no one had seen the trailers that show this will look like an Avengers movie, soon.

Hard to think of a slower start.

S1E1 "Winter is Coming" begins with a White Walker raising the dead and killing a knight and ends with an incestuous relationship being revealed and a 10 year old main character being thrown out a window (presumably to his death).

The season plods along until Episode 5, but 99% of fans were won over the by the first 3 minutes alone.

S.W.O.R.D.

This is going to be how they introduce mutants into the MCU is the general consensus

We all get it. The show is taking place in an alternate reality. At some point the mystery of why we are here will be resolved and we will return to the real world. We all know where we are going.

I just wish the journey was more interesting. It's Bewitched with Marvel characters. And I've already seen Bewitched.
