This show (or at least the beginning of this season) is going to be a VERY slow burn. Go into it with that understanding and you should be fine.

I wouldn't if you're not interested. You won't like it.

I've read about from real people who say it's one of the single worst shows they've ever seen through the first couple of episodes

I think this reaction is due to hype and expectation. People got Disney+ for the Marvel spin-off shows. The first two episodes they rolled out are such letdowns.

Apparently nothing happens.

That's pretty much true. 90% sitcom filler with some easter eggs tossed in for the hardcore fans and the end of the episode tells you something isn't right and there is more behind the scenes.

And then you see there is 8 minutes left and you get excited that they will expand upon it, but nope, it's all credits. 8 minutes of credits for a 20 minute show. Unreal.

Well then they are stupid. All of the footage I saw from WandaVision made it look like an artsy-fartsy show that took itself too seriously.

It’s odd but I really like it. And there’s a couple moments in each episode that gives you a feel for where they are going. Definitely still on the outer most layer of the onion.

It blows my mind that people are taking this show at face value based on those first two episodes.
It blows my mind, that you think people will continue to invest their time watching something that they found unwatchable. That's like someone taking two bites of some food, find it unpalatable, and you want them to keep eating it saying it's about to taste good.

Monica Rambeau’s pendant also has a similar logo on it.

You can wait another couple of weeks to find out how many episodes are a chore to get through. At least you have the knowledge that it’s not a universal success. You won’t be shocked by the slow start. It could turn out great, but they were banking on Marvel fans to give them the benefit of the doubt on the slow pace.

Correct. There’s always going to be MCU pushback. It’s pretty standard.

It’s always important to keep in mind, how many light years ahead of what’s left of Feige’s competition.

It's not always MCU pushback, and from the varied people who didn't enjoy the fist two episodes, this doesn't seem to be the case. I've said repeatedly in here that Vision is one of the best things in the MCU, and his involvement in Ultron keeps that movie far from being the disaster that most say it is. I've looked forward to WandaVision, and it might turn out to be phenomenal, but their first two episodes are slow and would be understandably off-putting for the casual TV viewer.

How can some of y’all not grasp that these episodes will make sense with later episodes?

We grasp it. We understand it. We know full well that the sitcoms are a set-up and that Wanda is trapped in some self-imposed or deviously inserted TV reality.

But with a series of short episodes, you owe it to your audience to make those first set-up segments entertaining. The ooh and ah of seeing Wanda and Vision as Rob and Laura Petrie or as Samantha and Darrin Stephens can't carry for an entire episode. The show within the show needs to be watchable, and the sitcoms within the drama were boring and lazily written. (I'm hoping that it's laziness and not someone intending to show that these old shows were "bad".)

If you're not going to make the sub-show entertaining, then combine episodes and keep the mini-sitcoms short and sweet.

Lost and Life on Mars were similar shows where the audience knew something was going on behind the scenes, but they had no idea what it was or what the series was leading to. The first episodes of those series were entertaining and drew you in, even though you knew you might have to wait the entire season to find out exactly what was behind it all. WandaVision failed in that area.

I hope that they turn it around fast. Paul Bettany as Vision is one of my favorite things in the MCU.

Am I missing something? There are only two episodes out and its clearly some weird/different format happening right now that will change as the show progresses. How can anyone have decided a opinion on this show after two episodes?

They have an opinion on the individual episodes. No one has an opinion on the entire series yet.

agree though
So far this is not something kids will like or understand
It seems to me Disney plus would want to at least have some kind of kid audience for this and some of these shows going forward

My kids (5.5 and 3) sat down and watch the entire episode and thought it was hilarious.

I think the series so far is brilliant. Can’t wait to see where it goes.

My older 2 girls (13 & 7) enjoyed it also. The youngest is only 20 months, so she only likes really annoying junk right now.
