Is there anything more rude than someone playing on their phone in a dark theater?

It is completely inconsiderate, and considering the price of a movie ticket, unfathomably stupid to waste that money checking facebook every two minutes instead of watching the movie you paid for.

They want you to know they have friends

They won't if they keep playing with their phones during a movie.

The only thing that bothers me is making noise, so I don't really care unless they are talking on the phone

people talking in dark theater
when i went and saw Logan, some thug pos got in an argument with his gf and was audibly bitching her out during a tense part (think it was before the farm house fight). like theater is dead quiet and you hear him every few seconds shouting. i was sitting right behind him and told him to take it outside, he just turned and said frick you. went on for a couple more minutes and they ended up leaving for good.

She was definitely not white. Which is why I didn't say anything. Certain groups of people cause a scene when called out in public.

No wonder my streams are shaky. That's a terrible way to record a movie.

That's the thing. Every time someone is talking during a movie, and I ask them to be quiet, they seem to get it. People are so addicted to their fricking phones, telling them to put it away is like asking them to abandon their children.

Guy was trying to impress his date with his world knowledge throughout the trailers. Once the movie studio titles started up for the actual film, I told him the movie was starting and asked him to keep it down. The movie started the split second after I asked him to be quiet. He spent the first thirty seconds of the movie telling me the movie hadn't started, followed by another thirty telling his date that I was wrong.

Talking during the previews is fine, and encouraged. Talking during the feature film should be punishable by a beating around the head and neck.

I'd only go to the theater in BR during the day for that very reason.

I guess the next worst thing is when people bring their very young children to an R rated movie. I saw John Wick 3 opening night, and a family had 3 kids under the age of 5 with them. The kids screamed, cried, and ran up and down the aisles while screaming and crying.
The family didn't seem to notice.

Stuff like that doesn’t bother me. I’m generally too locked in to the movie to really care about what other people are doing.

Some guy enjoying a sloppy bj from your girlfriend while you are trying to watch the movie might be slightly more rude. But other than that, you're probably right.

I get that. But this lady's bright white screen, flashing on every two minutes, kept distracting me and pulling me out of the movie.

That's why I usually say something

Just grab the phone out of her hand and throw it.

I could have done that, but it brings me back to

There is a certain group of people that have rude theater behavior ingrained in their culture.
Its unbelievable how 99.99% of the issue is with one group.
