The Shield is far superior to Ozark. It isn't particularly close.

I'd put them all in a similar category of dark dramas. BB and the Shield have great characters.

Ozark, meh.

I'll throw a suggestion in for Bloodline with a heads up. It is ipmerative that you undrestand that the writers had a direcdtion they wanted the show to go, but DURING shooting season 3 they lost their film tax credits (or however that works, idk) to shoot in the keys so they basically said "alright fellas, let's wrap it on up" and they basically had to wrap up the series in the reminaing like 5 episodes. So with taht said season 3 is pretty lackluster and the ending is obviously rushed, haphazard, and shitty.

BUT...seasons 1 and 2 were excellent IMO. Bloodline very much has an identical feel to ozark or some bb/bcs. The first couple eps of season 1 are a bit of a slow burn as you're getting used to the world and the characters but man it takes off and hits the gas about halfway thorugh.

All series that I enjoyed. Some are period pieces but they are good television.

The Shield finale is still probably the best ending to a series ever.

Boardwalk Empire

I'll also add Peaky Blinders.

It isn't a perfect series by any stretch, but it is good fun.

Bloodline is really good. It's also really profane like Ozark.

Both Narcos series are obvious answers if you haven't seen them.

Dexter is great too but is weird.

Mad Men is on Amazon Prime Freevee now and is top tier TV.
