"The Wire" is the correct answer. I am going to watch it for the 5th time soon.

I’m on season 4 of Yellowstone. I’m enjoying it.

Snowfall is one of the best series I've ever seen.
It's gritty, violent, and realistic look at the CIA introducing cocaine to Southern California. There's lots of plot development around central america as well as the rise of crack dealers in South Central LA. The protagonist is a young brilliant kid Franklin Saint. He gets in the game and is a drug kingpin now in the 6th season. I hope he doesn't go out like Scarface but fear that's coming.
It's styled and tense much like Boyz In the Hood b/c it was also created by John Singleton before his death.
The 6th and Final season starts in February. Get on it!

That reads like a calling card from FX, but FX is the Granddaddy when it comes to series like these.

The Last Kingdom
I was told this show was amazing. Better than Game of Thrones. It’s just a Game of Thrones knockoff. By season 2 I was like, “oh so they just gonna repeat the same plot over and over”.

Three pages and no one mentions “Lost”, the greatest show to air on the four major networks.
