Meh. It was okay. It’s a huge time commitment. I’m not really into shows where they intentionally withhold information so you don’t know what’s going on.

Wasn’t worth the payoff in my mind. Never had a desire to rewatch.

I’m not a big re-watcher, but this is one I have been thinking about for a while, mainly because I checked out a little some time in season 3. I don’t recall much from 3-5. I was getting tired of getting jerked around some

worth watching for sure but not an all time great

At the time it definitely was... quality of cable TV has dramatically increased since Lost went off the air.

"Almost everyone" also says Nickelback is the worst band of all time but that doesn't make it true. Whatever lack of answers you feel weren't provided isn't near enough of a reason for a potential watcher to not even begin.

Absolutely

The first 3 seasons are worth the possible disappointment (depending on your views) of the final season

The writers strike hurt it a bit but the story was built really well.

It’s one of the best TV shows of all time and the online message board action was a coming of age deal for internet + TV discussion

Hmmm..that shirt color seems a little loud for that character. Is he battling some kind of mental struggle? I sure with the writers would fill us in on this

The things left unexplained were major, significant, fundamental gaps in the very fabric of almost every meaningful plot in the show. They were not at all as trivial as this example.

My vote is don't waste your time unless you are someone who is just along for the ride and will not use your brain at all during the course of that journey.

I bailed after 2 1/2 seasons. Just one empty mystery box or dead end after another.

If you have the time, sure. But you won’t be left feeling satisfied

It’s probably a better binge than it was to watch week to week. So much of the theorizing, Easter eggs and plots were left out unanswered making the show feel like a waste of time.

So much of the experience of the show was hunting clues. Use to be huge threads on here breaking it all down. Without that I can see the ending being better but I hated the finale.

No.

Unless you like investing hours of your life in a show with multiple stories that go nowhere.

it started to feel like the writers were making shite up as they went along with no existing end point that would explain all of the weird shite they were throwing at you.

Watching was fun for a while. There were a couple of very active message boards and there was definitely a sense of community. The network would create fake websites for things like the airline and the Dharma Project and it felt like you were involved as you clicked around to see passenger manifests, etc.

I felt like viewers figured out the writers’ original plot and then the writers kept stringing viewers along with new mysteries every week without ever resolving prior mysteries. At some point, I felt manipulated and bailed.

lost walked so modern television could fly.

i get the statement of "not an all time great" compared to today, but i'd argue we don't have the type of storytelling and cliffhangers today without Lost.

game of thrones went out with a whimper and everybody just said that sucked and moved along with their lives. breaking bad ended well but predictably and everybody moved on.

Lost's ending debated and hated/loved universally. there was no in between.

Binged the first season on dvd with my girlfriend (now wife of 15 years) and we were hooked for the entire ride after that.

when my wife went home on maternity leave we were given season 1 and 2 and i started it and she came in later and started asking questions so i gave up and restarted it. when we finished both in a week, we realized season 3 was in a break and there wasn't streaming and TIVO wasn't mainstream at the time, so a friend at work bootlegged the first part of season 3 for us and my wife and i never missed another episode live.

good memories.

Lost is my all time #1 tv series. I’ve rewatched a couple times and it never gets old.

Nah. It's overwrought, poorly paced, nonsensical and mostly boring.

I loved coming to the movie/tv board and discussing Lost when it was on tv. The discussions went on and on with theories and explanations. Links to lostpedia to dig deeper. It occupied so much of my time, probably why I got laid off.

I bet if I could binge watch it I would have a hard time stopping to go to bed.

To this day one of the best threads on this board was everyone living vicariously through me watching all of lost in about 2 weeks.

One of my favorite shows ever. I love the ending, too. Go for it!
