this day one of the best threads on this board was everyone living vicariously through me watching all of lost in about 2 weeks.

Great thread, one of my favorites. I just reread the whole thing. Thats still a very impressive rewatch in a very short time lol

I think it will be much better as a binge. The speculation in between episodes and overall was the biggest contributing factor in peoples’ let down

It’s #1 for me, I loved the ending, and completely understand the hate.

If you were watching for the characters, then you were satisfied. If you wanted answers for every mystery, you were pissed.

It was the best TV show I've ever seen to this day. We watched it live and had to sit through summers guessing what was going to happen in the next season. When it came out there was no other show like it. It was a game changer and many shows have tried to copy it since.

For the OP, I’ll also say this. There is some merit to the “too many questions” crew. However, there were also FAR more things answered than those people bitch about. The problem is that they just didn’t like the answers. But there were definitely answers.

Also, it’s been said but a lot of the questions arose from the detailed examinations of every single episode. So when you’re binging the show, you don’t get hung up on a lot of that.

lost walked so modern television could fly. i get the statement of "not an all time great" compared to today, but i'd argue we don't have the type of storytelling and cliffhangers today without Lost. game of thrones went out with a whimper and everybody just said that sucked and moved along with their lives. breaking bad ended well but predictably and everybody moved on. Lost's ending debated and hated/loved universally. there was no in between.

You just described the Sopranos. But it was an all time great.

If you go into show knowing how bad it gets towards then end like I did then YES. The beginning is very good plus it had the hottest chicks in any TV series IMO

The Sopranos didn't have the internet economy that was spurred by Lost. Some of the first popular podcast were lost reaction pods

Season 3 Finale is, in my opinion, the best television episode that I've ever seen.
