Legends of the Fall was peak Brad Pitt.

Every teenage boy (and probably most grown men) wanted to be Tristan after watching this movie.

And every straight female teenage on up wanted to frick him

I had that Legends of the Fall poster of him at my room then (I was 16 when the movie came out).

This poster..

I think most teenage girls my age back then had this exact same poster in their bedrooms.

True that. Had the brothers adopted bros before hoes, it would’ve save a lot of heart ache in the family.

Legends of the Fall Brad Pitt was one of the hottest Brad Pitt characters imo.

That and this...

Meet Joe Black Brad Pitt

(another excellent movie with Anthony Hopkins that both men and women can enjoy)

his run from 92-99 was damn solid.

A River Runs Through It
Interview with the Vampire
Legends of the Fall
Se7en
12 Monkeys
Sleepers
Seven Years in Tibet
Meet Joe Black
Fight Club

He is the hottest man alive(even at 55, will be 56 in Dec) and a damn fine actor.

he could have easily turned himself into an action star. glad he didn't. Troy was definitely an outlier in his career.

I used to tell my wife that Tristan's character was loosely based on the events of my life before we met

I hated this movie because my HS girlfriend made me watch it (it was her favorite movie and Pitt was her favorite everything). Maybe I should give it another shot one day.

I prefer A River Runs Through it

I get the two mixed up, and actually realized I've seen River, but not Legends.

I thought Pitt's character in River was a spoiled shithead "prodigal son" type. Not a fan.

I’d guess Pitt was getting far more than his share at the time.

11 year old BB had it in her room

(pre-BB in actuality )

eta: Interesting fact about the name Tristan:

quote:

while the more recent Romance languages version, including French, is interpreted as "sadness" in keeping with the Tristan and Iseult romantic tale.

And while at 11 you likely weren't worried about sex...I bet you dreamed of kissing Brad

The scene where Tristan comes home and sees his father after his stroke for the first time always makes me tear up a little.

I appreciate it and these kinds of “Family Epics” because they’re extremely hard to pull off. Family chemistry and angst is very hard to capture on screen and this movies themes and situations went to the extreme with those. This movie absolutely pulls it off.
