Haven't seen the latest but Killers of the Flower Moon, Don't Look Up,The Revenant, The Wolf of Wall Street were nothing special. OUTIH was great though.

I have to be honest. When he was on Growing Pains I didn't foresee him being the breakout mega-star from that cast. I would have bet anything that Boner or Ben were destined for greatness.

I guess you never know.

I didn't like him in most of his roles before Blood Diamond/The Departed, which both came out in 2006. Before 2006, he looked like a 13 year old kid.

I think his best performance was in What's Eating Gilbert Grape.

But instead he set about things very intentionally.

No Marvel Movies. No Star Wars. Very little action or romcom bullshite

Leo's career advice to Timothee Chalamet.

"No Hard Drugs and no movies with capes."

Has served him well.

I'm sure I'll get downvoted for this but I've always thought he was overrated. Not saying that he's a bad actor I just don't think he's just not as great as everyone makes him out to be.

Count me in. His best acting performance is Wolf of Wall Street. Every other movie he is in, he gets carried by better actors. I don't understand the acclaim he gets and people shocked he didn't win an oscar. Hell, the movie he won the oscar for, Tom Hardy acted circles around him. Not impressed, and I hope one day he gets cancelled for being a sex pest for his love of young snizz.

The physical performance he puts on in the Revenant is insane

He is absolutely crazy good in both Tarantino films.

Also: the departed.

Aviator, Django Unchained, Catch Me if You Can, Revenant, once upon a time in Hollywood, departed, Blood Diamond, inception.

Pretty wild take to say he’s not good and carried in all of those movie. Of course he probably votes Democrat and does care about the environment so I get that’s an automatic rejection of everything about him as a person and actor to some posters.

Also, he reportedly had a miserable time making Titanic as did most of the other cast and crew. Everyone remembers that movie as a critical and financial megahit, but when they were making it and during the promotion, it was all negative and people were saying that it was Waterworld on steroids and it was going to kill the film industry, etc. I think Leo has hinted that experience, even though it made him a star, has formed his picky career approach.

Yep, sounds like a James Cameron production.

Probably my ultimate “guilty pleasure” movie, and I’ll even go as far to say that it’s one of my favorite movies of all time. I absolutely love it

Massive Leo fan here. I think his best acting performance is The Aviator. Love all his stuff especially The Departed and Blood Diamond. Saw The Departed in theatre with my dad when I was 16 and I think it’s what got me to really appreciate “films”.

I was thinking about his top 10 acting performances of all time. I didn't want to start another thread about it, but here's mine:

1. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
2. Wolf of Wall Street
3. The Aviator
4. Blood Diamond
5. The Departed
6. The Revenant
7. Gilbert Grape
8. Catch Me If You Can
9. Shutter Island
10. Django Unchained

Good list.

I'd move The Revenant to #2 and Django to #3.

He was excellent in OUATIH - I think it was his best performance .

Agreed with your top 3
I think I’d have Shutter Island and the Departed to round out the top 5.

I didn’t see them when the came out, but I watched Gilbert Grape, This Boy’s Life, and the Basketball Diaries before a lot of his best stuff came out, and his talent at a young age is undeniable.
