I love how this term can be used for just anything now. This is a Batgirl DC movie, woke or not, was there ever any doubt that this would be an god awful movie?

Yeah I just never saw the point of this movie. They have had so much trouble figuring out a shared universe and you decide to make a batgirl movie. This isn't phase 4 Marvel, you don't have that much good grace with the audience.

Yeah, it was giving me Black Widow (2021) vibes.
Edit: My vaguest clue of a “point” was to do a preliminary introduction of the DC Multiverse, hence the reintroduction of Keaton’s Batman before The Flash (2023) came out.
….BUT now considering the drama surrounding The Flash, I wonder if it will be shelved too.

And she clearly doesn’t need a bustier.

Variety also confirms.
But they say it has nothing to do with the quality of the movie. That’s a tough sell.

No way they wouldn't retool this into some filler streaming content for HBO Max.

Directed by the same wokesters that made the woke garbage Bad Boys for Life.
I mean this movie wasn’t some kind of cinematic masterpiece by a long shot, but what about it was “woke”?

Jay Are loves woke messages in his movies. He was trying to be sarcastic by saying the Bad Boys directors couldn’t possibly make a woke movie which is nonsense

The unusual move comes after a change in leadership at Warners, with newly installed Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav prioritizing on cost-cutting measures and refocusing Warners on theatrical films rather than creating projects straight for streaming, as had been a priority for former WarnerMedia CEO Jason Kilar.
Insiders say that big budget films made directly for streaming no longer financial make sense under the company’s new strategy. In June, Zaslav tapped MGM’s Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy to run Warners, replacing Toby Emmerich.

Peacemaker might not survive the purge TBH. Since Discovery has taken over WB they have been canceling shite left and right w/zero regard to quality or how far along the project is. Hell, they canceled that show Chad on TBS just a couple hours before season 2 was supposed to premier.
