re: Infinity war reaction and SPOILERS thread

I’m guess they like show a montage of the attack from the Black Order in the beginning on New York and then it cuts to say: 4 months earlier or something like that.
I imagine their journey will pay off in a major way in Part 2 but that the film will focus on them for the majority. I could see the mid credits scene being Hank Pym disintegrating and Ant Man and the Wasp are like, “We need to go find Stark and Cap.”

Are we getting any more Hawkeye going forward?
I imagine his family disintegrating will play a major role in him returning to the original lineup. Like someone else said earlier in the thread, this is very much Infinity War Part 1 and Part 2. They wanted to make a great movie in Part 1, but also maybe thin the roster some so they could focus on the originals, give them a swan song of sorts to tie up their storylines.
I’d imagine 2 hours of the next one will be mostly the OGs and then they resurrect almost everyone and then EVERY single hero comes and fights and defeats Thanos in the last 30-40 minutes, with some originals dying in the final battle.

You need reconciliation between Tony and Steve before offing him though.
The fact that they didn't have any contact at all in this movie tells me that will be a big plot point in Part 2

One interesting theme throughout the movie was how multiple characters were presented a choice to either prevent Thanos from getting another stone or allow someone to die.
Loki chooses to save Thor. Gamora chooses to save Nebula. Thanos chooses to kill Gamora. Strange chooses to save Tony. Wanda chooses to kill Vision.
Someone smarter than me can probably interpret what it all means. Just thought it was interesting.

Fewer Democrat voters? I reluctantly agree with your proposal.

Venom is going to come in and save the day in Infinity Gauntlet (reported title for A4)

If Marvel and DC were to fully merge, they’d get rid of Thanos in favor of Darkseid.
Before Thursday night perhaps.

Shuri is not bad looking for a black girl

Just got out and wow, what a ride!
I thought they did a great job of balancing time amongst a huge cast that was all over the place. The humour was spot on and the movie never really bogged down.
As others have mentioned, the movie crowd was far more animated than for most other movies -- lots of oohs, ahhs, and cheers and even a few "oh nos!".
I also liked the change in Thanos, it somehow made him relatable. I'm not sure exactly how, but he had some nuance.
Highly recommend this for anyone familiar with the other Marvel movies.

I’ve often though the Earth would be better off if half the population died, so I guess I’m literally Thanos.

Thanos chooses to kill Gamora.
Thanos had to kill the one person he loves to get the Soul Stone.
quote:
Wanda chooses to kill Vision.
He actually consoled Scarlet Witch after she killed Vision. Then, after he's won everything, he can literally do anything. He chooses to spend time with a make-believe Gamora.
That shite is already eating him up.
quote:Strange chose to give Thanos the do-over switch.
Strange chooses to save Tony
How long does Thanos sit around talking to a make-believe kid, knowing he can reverse that action, before he breaks down?
Mantis said he was in agony. Strange knew what that meant, he saw the outcomes.
Thanos has to win completely, without challenge, and have eternity without distraction to second-guess what he did.
If he's killed, he can't undo it. If he's fighting, he doesn't have the time to ponder the what-ifs.
I think best-case scenario is for the universe to fall into chaos, not the new balanced vision he dreamt of. He needs to see the heroes he left fall bitterly, knowing he caused this.

I’m confused as to the fate of the people of Asgard. At the beginning it looked liked everyone had been killed. But later Thor says that’s Thanos killed half his people. If so, where were they and is Korg with them?

In the comics, Thor eventually rebuilds Asgard on Earth somewhere very remote in the heartland or in one of the nordic countries. They'll be around.
Oh and let's consider Hulk's last three outings here.
He got his arse beat comfortably by the Hulkbuster.
He cheated against Thor.
He bitched out for the rest of the movie and let Bruce high and dry like a coward after Thanos bitch slapped him.
Huh, Does Kevin Feige hate Hulk or something?

Am I the only one who didn't know it was going to be like that. I know Gamora said that with all 6 stones, that with a snap of his fingers half of humanity would automatically be wiped out. I figured she was just using a figure of speech to describe his immense power. I had no idea she was being literal.

I literally loved everything after the line "You should've gone for the head"
That ending almost left my jaw on the floor.

Seems they all thoroughly enjoyed it
And that's saying something because they had been shitting on superhero movies lately and had expressed little interest in IW.
Those guys do appreciate good storytelling and direction, and there was certainly that in this movie.
