It must be exhausting looking for things to be triggered about constantly.

Do you guys think we'll get Adam Warlock in the next movie?
I hope we get a better plot than just Thanos having buyer's remorse.
Will it be possible to get one of the stones off the gauntlet? Will that be enough to defeat him? Which stone is most powerful?

one minor complaint, they probably could have done a slightly better job of explaining why Thanos actually cared so much for Gamora

I think they did that in this film, and with the GOTG backstory. Remember, Nebula hated Gamora because she was clearly Thanos' favorite.
Also, you can see that it was reciprocal (regardless of her statements) when she thought she had killed him at Nowhere (her reaction).

yeah sort of but they don't really quite say why she meant so much to him

I thought Brolin played Thanos far better than anyone could have ever expected and gave one of the better villain (especially animated) performances in recent memory.
They humanized him and Brolin played that extreme well. There was a sense of loss in his voice almost the whole time and it worked incredibly well..
I know they left out the "death" plot in his story and they also didn't say that Titan was a moon in our universe, but they made a very memorable and fantastic big bad for the film.
His angle in the story is the main reason I want to see the film again.

It was incredibly refreshing to see a thoughtful, not cruel villain. I’ve been a Thanos fan for years, and they absolutely did the character justice.

I love how much depth they gave his character. Even in the original Infinity Gauntlet miniseries, his love for Death (entity) was his driver for killing half the universe: to please her as an act of love.

This complaint from the New Yorker review:
No shite
What is this guy wanting?

In "Avengers: Infinity War," characters aren’t introduced; they just show up, and their behavior is entirely defined by the template set for them in other movies.

Sounds like he wants a movie that stands on its own, and isn’t dependent on previous installations. But this isn’t a stand alone film. It’s a chapter in a series.

Is this really some kind of criticism? That’s what I loved about this movie. When the guardians were on screen, it felt like a guardians movie. When Doctor Strange had the focus, it felt like Doctor Strange. Wakanda felt like black panther. When Iron Man controlled the narrative, it felt like Iron Man. Weak criticism.

This absolutely would’ve ruined the movie. I’m a big fan of original content and not serializing and squeezing everything you can out of something just to keep making money but the MCU is the opposite of that. The MCU has had a clear vision from the beginning and stayed the course even with movies that were slightly more panned and it has paid off tremendously. It’s completely the gold standard for how to do an entire franchise.

Yeah, but I don’t understand some of his ridiculous cruelty in past movies, especially when it comes to Nebula.

Almost all the negative reviews I’ve seen are complaining about the very concept and promise. Has Marvel from the very start ever misled us on what this film would be? The only character they had to develop was Thanos, which they did masterfully.

What for me the most was Peter hugging Tony saying he wasn't ready to go. That shite got me in the feels.

Saw it last night with my wife. We both loved it. I'm hoping to see it again before it's out of theaters.
Also, I'm re-watching Thor Ragnarok today while doing some chores around the house and I noticed in the scene when Thor and Hulk are arguing that the one insult that really hurts Hulk is when Thor tells him that the people of Earth hate him.
I'm wondering if that is why Hulk didn't "come out" for Banner? He knew he was on Earth and didn't want to be hated again by his own kind. Just a thought.

He didn’t come out because Thanos kicked his arse

Well I said they would up the stakes. And holy hell did they ever.
What a movie.
What a movie.

Apparently the Russos instructed Josh Brolin to watch The Godfather a few times in preparation for the role. I do think it’s genius that they decided to combine Vito Corleone with Darth Vader to formulate their villain. I don’t think he’s as good as Ledger’s Joker, but I’d put him on the same level as Syndrome as far as great supervillains are concerned.
