If Sonny Corleone doesn't get whacked, does the Corleone family win the war?

I don't think they do, Sonny was too much of a hot head. Something would go wrong and he would've lost his shite. I think Sonny met a fitting end for his personality type, even though I liked him as a character.

Sonny was too much of a hot head. Sonny would wind up whacked anyway. After all of the shite he stirred Tom could have had him whacked or Michael.
We never see if Vito was cold blooded enough to do something like that. Remember Vito survives and then retires. Vito would have just taken back over. Sonny was a hot head but not ambitious. Not enough to fight his own dad for control. A fight he would lose.

I wish the admins would give all the users a free ban for a day to place on anybody that replies to a thread that they start. I would most definitely use it on the "If only there was a board for this" type of responses.

If I wanted to be on the TV board I'd be on it.

Fredo was barely above being a functioning retard. As long as he stayed away from the business, he seemed pretty harmless. Michael should have kept him confined to the estate and let him fish. Only whack him if he tried to get out of line again. I think Fredo knew it was only a matter of time though before he got one in the back of the head.
Sonny was a hothead. Michael was cool and calculated. Sonny may have eventually won the war, but at a much higher body count for his family and the others.
