Good for you. It was definitely the Superman movie we've been waiting for for a long time.

Watch the first flight scene and tell me if you don't get chills. LINK

But I will say honestly that I really enjoyed the battle in New York for avengers and I hope to see that with the justice league one day.

Superman vs General Zod was the better fight though. Way better.

I enjoyed both.

Avengers had the advantage of all the lead in movies that covered origins, etc. Avengers was supposed to be a shoot me up, bang bang kind of film. With so many characters interacting it needed to be an action-fest.

Man of Steel was the origin movie (or re-telling). It needed to be slower paced and more dramatic.

Both were great for what they were.

I think you missed the point of both Man of Steel and the Avengers tbh.

I don't think you can say that The Avengers is some Saturday morning, Michael Bay, CGI shite fest and act like Man of Steel was above all of that.

Good. Because I didn't say that MoS was above that. The point is the hypocrisy of critizing Michael Bay films, and then turning around and saying that The Avergers was good, when it was a repackaged TF3. And as far as Avergers being better that's called a difference of opinion and can never be proven.

The Avengers is not the best movie in the world nor the end all of comic book films, but it is easily a better film than Man of Steel.

I wouldn't say that MOS>The Avengers (I liked them both, and don't really have a preference), but you prefer Superman Returns to MOS, so your opinion is pretty much useless on the subject.

Man of Steel tried to be too epic. It just jumped from one scene to the next, with no fluidity. It was a mess.

It looked pretty though.

you seem to think that people criticize Michael Bay just because he uses a lot of explosions and CGI, and not because of his tendency for horrific plot holes

And I don't think one person on here says that. Is it in the discussion? Sure. But so are Superman 1/2, Batman, Thor, Sin City 300 and a plethora of other films based off of that kind of art.

Is Avengers the best representation of a SUPERHERO comic book? It's hard to argue against it, yes, but that's a small niche to argue.

Nobody likes that movie. Nobody worth their salt likes Returns.

It's a shame though. Brandon Routh would've been great in MoS. He was a great Superman.

It's not your fault that you enjoyed a movie more than one that had predictability and campiness of a Saturday morning cartoon with the explosions and over use CGI of a Michael Bay film

Do you know anything about Comics? They aren't all dark and some are meant to be campy and goofy. Avengers was a fun movie where as MOS was trying to be to serious and was all wrong.

Everything in this video is 100% fact.

Yet it took 5 movies and the cookie cutter plot of:

we're not friends, but we'll work together this time... Do you want to continue being friends when this is all over? You do!?!? Well, if you have trouble in your next adventure don't expect me to show up to help you. Oh and isn't awesome how two regular humans and one with cammy cam juice running through his veins was able to stop an alien horde just as well as a god, a giant, and a billionaire with a suit that has endless power. That was awesome.

Easily the lamest argument possible against the Avengers. And what will you say when Batman gets his own film and Superman isn't around to help??

Well if the Superman Batman film news is to be believed, they are going to attempt to do in two films.

ANd thse 5 films you are referring too were all about the title charcaters in that film. I get the feeling that the Man of Steel sequel needs the DC golden boy (Batman) to get it into the same league as the Marvel films.

I will say the phase 2 of Marvel films is not shaping up the way I wanted it too, but we at least have Fox's Marvel Mutant universe, which is getting really good.

This is the scene I think about when I remember many of the idiotic professional critics claiming there was no joy in this movie. I had a smile from ear to ear in the theater watching this scene like I was a kid.

Been reading comics since I was 4 so, yeah I know a thin or two about comics. But what most of you are missing is not that I am saying one movie was better than the other, because that's all in the way you look at both of them. To me I felt as if The Avengers was Saturday morning cartoon turned into a movie, while MoS was a movie that was trying to be like a Frank Miller/Alan Moore comic.
