I want to give a warning to those of you that haven't finished the books and will be keeping up with the story on this board.

STAY OUT OF THE BOOK DISCUSSIONS IF YOU HAVEN'T FINISHED just to be safe.

Countless times I would go into a thread discussing up to CoK or to a specific point after I had gotten there and somebody would post a spoiler from after that point. I had to make myself get caught up completely before reading any more of those threads. I saw spoilers about some pretty big events before I read them in the books.

The Battle of Blackwater is insane. I hope they film that scene right. If they do, it'll be an incredible experience...

I read the first 4 on my Nook before the show started. It was an insufferable wait for ADWD, but I ultimately enjoyed it. Did NOT like book 4. Too many new damn characters and I found myself getting very, very bored.

Anyone who thinks that the hunger games is much better than song of ice and fire is intentionally flaming the board. What a troll...even if you actually believe that.

What the hell...I admit it is sort of funny.

Read all the books and watched the show. They kept as true to the source material as any TV show I've seen.

Just finished the 4th book (AFfC). And while it was my least favorite of the series so far it's still a pretty good book.

I LOVE the series and can't wait for Season 2. I had intended on reading the books as they were covered in the show but couldn't put them down.

Read 1-4, waiting for 5 to come out on paperback. Very excited for the show, and I'll probably re-read A Clash of Kings before it starts back up on HBO.

Read them all and even have a couple that are auto'd. I hope they don't stray from the books during the show.

I just finished book 5 DwD... seems I might be the only one but I enjoyed Crows more than Dragons. Dragons just seemed so tedious to me to get to the "action"... Maybe I was just expecting "bigger" things and had my expectations lowered for Crows because of comments previously before reading.

Read all of them...sorta. I read the first 2 completely and really enjoyed them, but by the 3rd one, I was getting bored with some of the storylines and would skim/skip chapters dealing with a character I didn't like/wasn't interested in. My favorite characters are the Starks and the Lannisters. I don't like Daenerys<sp?> so pretty much skipped anything having to do with her, I'm sure I missed some important stuff but I'll catch up while watching the show.
