To answer the question, I think it was the MBA/Website combo. He probably nailed his interview with the MBA leverage that impressed Wallace, and the website was something he could run with.

I honestly don't get the Jim and Pam hate as a whole.
I agree completely. To take it further, I actually like the maturation of them individually and then also as a couple. I like the way Pam changes and speaks her mind and then I think that helps Jim become a better husband and father. His pursuit of his dream ends up making Pam a better mother and wife as well.

Rewatching the series now, and I'm in season 8, Andy is unbearable after he gets his manager job back from Nellie.
Agreed. I mentioned something similar earlier when Jim had jury duty. They really blew it with Andy's character. He went from an awesome side character to an overly ridiculous caricature when they decided to push Ed Helms (I assume due to the success of The Hangover). As much as I love the show, him being manager was ridiculous and stupid, and the show suffered a bit because of it.

ery time I watch those episodes, all I can think about is how perfect she is for Michael. She is just as socially weird and "funny" as he is.
I was going to post the same thing. I just rewatched all her episodes as Toby's replacement this past week. She is a very endearing character that I think gets better every time I watch her.
The way they tailored her character reminds me of how they tailored the wife in How I Met Your Mother to fit Ted. Both were perfectly done. The difference is, The Office found a great way to end Michael's time on the show, then eventually the entire show all together. Both shows really struggled in the end, but at least the office finished with a flourish.

Pam is the most well-developed character on the show.
The person she is in the finale is totally different and way better than the person she is in the pilot.
She starts out shy and afraid to take a chance on anything small or large. She finally works up courage to pursue what she really wants, gets rewarded for that and takes it to far, becoming an obnoxious bitch and right at the end of the show starts to dial back and find a happy medium.
It's actually a really natural and human progression, and Jenna Fischer basically had to play 3 different characters over the 9 years and she pulled it off perfectly.

I agree. Him being the side character salesman was perfect. My favorite scene is probably when he asks Creed for relationship advice.
Creed "Just go right in and kiss her!"
Andy "I don't know.. sounds risky."
Creed "Have I ever steered you wrong, Jim?"
Andy "What?"
I honestly didn't really mind him being manager, it wasn't awful. It all started with the episode with him coming begging for work in the jump suit and then revealing that he got his job back. After that it's all down hill for me.

Deangelo
I can't believe how bad he was in that show. He was on for such a short time I let it slide. I have to fast forward through the fake juggling scene because it's too dumb to waste the 2 min on.
