I mute the sound during the credits of all Batman films and play "kiss from a rose" by Seal in my head. This has nothing to do with the OP, but I needed to confess.

Because Nolan is the greatest and most influential director of all time. That's why.

I don't even have that much of a problem with it. But I do get pissed when people try to shite on TDK and nitpick it for "believability" and then tout Begins as the best of the series, when it's just as unbelievable (all three were really).

This... he probably thought: "x scene or plot doesn't make sense, but the legion of fanboys will be so entranced by my signature loud horn noises they won't care/notice"

Microwaves don't just vaporize water. The focused meant it attacked just water. H2O is H2O

Ummm yeah.

Microwaves do attack water.

It's how your microwave works.

Or more precisely, it attacks polar compounds, of which water is the main example.

It heats the water, which heats the food.

I took the "focused" to mean some kind of directional aspect.

Might be wrong, but wasn't there something introduced to the water supply in addition to Scarecrow's toxin? Maybe, there was a minimum amount of water density/volume needed for the microwave emitter to be effective?

You can criticize any movie to this level of detail, but are you paying for a 100% factual discovery channel expose or a movie based on a fictional premise?
