They have so many major battles they can add in at a greater scale than the ones in GoT

hard to argue with this

The Hightowers weren't basically ruined. They were as wealthy as the Lannisters and had command of a larger military force than the Tyrells, even though they were Tyrell bannermen. They had significant influence on the maesters as the Citadel is still in Oldtown

Lady Margery's mother was a Hightower, and any seeming weakness is because Lord Leyton Hightower is a hermit that stays in the Tower in Oldtown.

It's possible Euro Greyjoy ruins them, but that hasn't happened yet.

at minimum they are not one of the power houses by the time of Robert. At least in the TV show, they barely get a mention

I had to go back and google them and the valyrons as far as their presence in the show

They were very powerful, Leyton Hightower just chose not to excercise that power and instead chose to stay on the periphery.

But they were the richest house in Westeros, had the strongest military, and controlled the Maesters during Robert's reign.

Put it this way, if the Hightower's committed to Stannis instead of remaining neutral post-Renly, he doesn't lose the Battle of the Blackwater

So with Laenor fricking off to Essos does his dragon follow him. Be kind of a dead giveaway he’s alive if the dragon just up and hauls arse to Essos. Also if the dragon sticks around but Laenor is not actually dead can it imprint on someone else? Or dragon free agent that just takes the best NIL deal?

This is the first time during this show I’ve seen book readers doing drive buys and dropping spoilers. It’s bullshite. Are we going to have to have two threads again because you guys can’t help yourself?

I've thought about this a lot as a plot device that makes no sense when you actually think about it, like a multitude of things I'm Harry Potter. How does the dragon know their rider is dead if they didn't witness it?

In a universe where humans can take control of animals, you think this is a plot hole?

Alicent is self-righteous, manipulative, and judgemental over Rhaenarya ousting her father as hand. Rhaenarya was justified in this as she knew Otto Hightower was manipulating his way to the throne through Alicent.

Dude this is a fantasy story, not real life. Rhaenyra isn't Betty from HR, she's a princess in the middle ages, heir to the throne, and she flies Dragons.

Do you hate Viserys for banging a 14 year old Alicent?

Why even watch this show if you are gonna jusge it by the rules of society in 2022?

No, just a thing to discuss on the movie board.

Also, the magic of it is not that they take control of animals. They take control of horses in the same way. The magic is that it seems only those of Valyria can do the controlling. So, the fact that dragons can sense blood, I guess it can be argued that they sense death.

I really don't want them to. This show feels so much better without all of that.

What spoilers have been dropped? I have seen people talk about things that did not happen that did in the book already but since it will no longer take place I do not see that as a spoiler.

Like the Greens vs the Blacks as I mentioned. But it has nothing to do now with what is about to happen. And anyone that has seen GoT already know some of what might happen.

Someone gave a pretty obvious hint as to what will happen to R & D in the future.

I must have missed that. As a book reader I unfortunately know the fates of the characters if the book is followed which like GoT any character you start to like never has a happy ending. No matter who you are pulling for it seems.

I’ve tried to RA some, so as not to point them out. But they haven’t been taken down.
