You’re speaking to a Maester baw
But this is the TV thread, and many readers are not maesters. Most would be familiar with the Great Sept of Baelor and confused by the reference to the Faith instead being centered at Oldtown.
A bit of non-spoiler background might be appreciated.

So Daemon trying to marry the Velaryon daughter has to be the best strategy for both him and the Velaryons right?

Is there a book spoiler thread?
Hoping those of us who havent read the books can speculate without someone who has read them giving us the answer

I’ve read the novella not the fire and blood version of this. Wonder how different it is

Yes. Most here who have watched to this point in the threads have enjoyed it and think it’s a quality show.

No clue, Fire & Blood is a history of events from 3 different peoples’ perspectives. This is said to be the “true” occurrence of events, so even it differs a bit from the “history”.
ETA: the show is very good IMO

It really feels good to have some GOT back in my life again I definitely look forward to Sunday nights again. The wife and I love House of Dragon. The time jumping is different but it has been done right so far and I know its a big jump coming so LFG

I think the time jumping will significantly slow down after this episode. They just needed to set a base for the storylines to come.

Supposedly he's putting the final touches on the latest one.....as heard around this time annually for the last 5 years

What’s weird is that it doesn’t have the watercooler type buzz that GOT had.
I don’t think anyone else in my office is watching it.

he's nowhere near done and is certainly not 'putting the final touches' on it.
chances are greater than 50% that the book never comes out

I'm kinda pissed they're recasting Allicent and Rhaenyra. Both were fantastic. I find it hard to believe they couldn't put some makeup on to age them a bit.

Give it some time, GOT was pulling numbers in the 40 million at its best.

If there is an award for “Least Attractive Actress in a Leading Role,” she is a shoe-in.
(oops, “they are” a shoe-in, per her “preferred pronouns”)
